In the meantime, I took 2 slices of bacon (chopped) and cooked until brown.

I put the drained bacon on top of the cheese, and put the tops on the burgers, sealing the edges.

I sprinkled with garlic/parsley powder and Monteral seasoning, and put on the grill for about 6 minutes on one side/4 on the other.
In the meantime, the corn was cooking (bring to a boil, cook for 10 minutes, turn it off)

And, here is the finished result.

I could have shown you the empty plates, but, well, I don’t want to torture you guys too much.

Yes Elf! You've already tortured us enough

Thanks Dale. I'm going to do something I normally don't do...take my meds. Hopefully they'll help! Still got my fingers crossed that I can get a day off on Saturday!

 Well gee Chim  That sounds like an excellent idea!
I hope you get off Saturday too! Finger's crossed :)

Lol! I know I know! I just worry about becoming dependent on them so I don't like to take them too often. Everyone laughs at me because I have an inversion table in my sunroom & that usually helps but sometimes nothing helps. :(

Well I do understand your feelings about getting dependent ... one reason I don't drink much is that my dad's an acoholic & the tendency in our family towards addictive behavior:( Hence my smoking habit

Luckily it wasn't a huge list & we "divided to conquer". He took the non-food side with one buggy & I did food with another. First time we've tried that & it worked well.

I see where you sent him off to the non-food side, but I can't think of the last time I went shopping with the DH. He tends to be an "impulse shopper"...it never ends well. Remember those days when you had to take stuff out of the cart that your kid had sneaked in...and the tantrum that occurred when you did that? Yeah, pretty much what happens when the DH and I do food shopping together.

Oreos, chips/dip, cakes, junk/junk/junk/beer/junk/beer/batteries/magazines. So, no...let me do the shopping alone, thank you very much.

Yep! I can totally relate to that! Our biological father is an alcoholic so I tend not to drink much either. His father was an alcoholic too. It's funny because my grandfather on my moms side was also an alcoholic...which I didn't know until a couple of weeks ago & I've always avoided men who drink a lot because I was afraid to repeat that cycle as well but I had not idea that my mom had repeated that cycle already. She and my grandmother both married abusive alcoholics.

    Hi all!
Chim.. I'm so sorry you're in pain tonight! I don't blame you for not wanting to take the pain pills. So many people get addicted and that's such an awful thing to have to deal with on top of everything else. :( Hope what you took tonight helps and you can get some decent sleep. I also hope you get Sat. off! You need it!

Charm.. that's how we do our walmart trips.. only the opposite. Doug does the food and I get to do the more fun stuff. :D He's a surgical strike shopper and I'm a lolly gagger, wanting to look at this that and the other. I usually hate shopping. Of any kind. But if I HAVE to, then I want some fun thrown in. (Like looking at baby clothes for my grandbabies and trying to make up my mind about what color to paint the bathroom. )

Elf... I waited for you to call and tell me what time to be there and now I see you've eaten without me! :sneaky: Seriously... that looks delicious!

It's been hot and muggy and icky and I miss this....

Oh yeah....my husband bought one of those (a teeter-hangup). It makes a great coat rack :p:facepalm:

Lol! I do actually use mines. Especially since I stand all day at work & I love that mines has a heated backboard. But those teeter's are a bit pricey so you better hang coats, handbags & christmas ornaments or something on that thing!!

Hey Kaye dear! Thanks! I miss the snow too! I went to grad school in michigan. After a while I got tired of looking at it but it was quite pretty the first couple of snowfalls...after the 30th storm or so I was over it. I hate that we rarely get snow here. We tend to get more ice than anything. The one thing I did like was that nothing shut down due to the snow. If you even mention snow here...good luck getting any bread or milk at the store. People go crazy!!

    Hey Jerry!

Oh! Sorry...I just figured it would take too long for you guys to travel cross-country...hence the pictures: now you know how to do it yourselves :lol::lol:

NO---NO---NO---NO!!! I can always find a way to cool off in the summer; but in the winter I am hard pressed to find a place to get warm. These old farmhouses SUCK in the winter.

Hi Jerry! :) I know you don't like white stuff in person... but you don't have to shovel it out of the picture. I promise. :D I love when it snows like that. Just wish it wouldn't do it on the driveway. I want those things you lay out, plug in and it melts as it falls. Then I'd be all set! lol

No kidding! When I lived overseas, we'd have 6 inches on the roads, and another 12 forecast and life went on as usual. Here in Virginia, if there is a "chance of flurries", schools close, grocery stores are mobbed, and you can't find a battery for miles.
