Hubby's party was GREAT! It was nice to see him be the center of attention for once & he seemed so happy:) Both the Son & Daughter did the cooking and the cake she made was truely cute! All six grandkids were here & I soooooooooo wanted to hold that 4 mt old Lyriq but alas I did not (well ok, I covered my face with a towel & held her a few minutes):D Bela broke my heart wanting to "sit on your lap Mimi" but I had to keep the physical contact down :( Oh well, all had a good time, a wonderful supper & dear hubby & brother are off to Ky, then over to TN! And I have sweet sweet peace and quiet!

I love it when my DH goes up to visit his mother. I was a "weekend wife" for years and years. "J" lived on a boat while working in Northern Virginia and he would come home on Fridays (we live about 3 hours SE of the DC area). I was always glad to see him on Friday; by Sunday afternoon, I'd be checking my watch and saying, "shouldn't you be heading out?"

    Good times....

Is ok Lori.. will give me a good excuse to cruise to my b&m store for goodies!!

    It will all work out..

    So, Stroker wasn't any good??

It was dreadful for me. Park is a Korean film maker but decided to make a film with an American cast, Kidman etc. Could really tell there was a lot lost in translation on the set. Kidman always seems plastic to me but this was beyond that. I woke up and skimmed through the rest of it and did not see anything that grabbed me. He has a way of bringing out some amazing performances from his Korean casts but this was just dull and lifeless.

Wise choice! :) got my BP tested today at the dentist, no idea what is good but they took it 3 times because they thought it wasn't right. think it was 115/75 or something and my pulse was only 68, I didn't have any coffee this morning.

But..but...I want some of YOUR recipes, too!
    We'll all contribute of course!!

So, I have a funny recipe story. Well, it was funny to us. Here goes.
My MIL makes this TOTALLY FREAKING AWESOME sweet potato recipe at Thanksgiving. So, I get the recipe from her, which is a handwritten recipe called Sandy's Sweet Potato ? (can't remember). My MIL had gotten it from her friend Sandy.

So, I'm telling one of my good friends about it, she has me email her the recipe, and of course I do.
Then, I was telling my sister about how good it was, so she has me just read the recipe to her, she said she didn't need me to send it because she already had a recipe she really likes.

As I finish reading her the recipe, she say, "Oh, that's the one I use, it's Paula Deen's recipe from The Lady and Sons Cookbook".

So, the funny part is. WE ALL ALREADY HAD THAT COOKBOOK. My friend had it, she had sent an extra copy she'd ended up with to me, and my MIL also had the cookbook, but has been using this handwritten recipe of her friends for SEVERAL years now.
The recipe is letter for letter Paula's.

......................anyway.......it was funny at the time.........:laugh::laugh:....okay.....not as funny as Elf's stories.:cry:

I have had something similar happen with my bean salad recipe, not sure what the original source is but a few friends have the exact same one. I got mine from my Grandma on hand-written paper.

Well the bottom number is good but the top sounds a little low , weird; never heard of a dentist taking your BP.
