This big guy (or gal) was sitting in a tree that overhangs our garden...I waited until it was gone to go out there. Those birds are huge!!! and not very good tempered. We have a couple of nesting pairs in the woods to our east...we see them all the time and they've helped themselves to a few of our chickens over the years. I also had a Red Tailed Hawk snatch one of our wild mallards (when we had them) right out of the air.

Oh, I think they're soooooo cool. But nope, not if they ate my chickens......!!!

Awesome scar, BTW. I never managed to get stitches, but have a few "interesting" scars, mostly faded now. I do have a cool pic of an ankle Xray. And I just ADORE praying mantis! My grandma had one of those cocoons on her front porch furniture. They hatched during a week long visit, and I was mesmerized the entire time!

I see AB playing catch up. Darlin, your package arrived, but I haven't had time to taste the juices yet. It's killing me!! And, of all things, DH has already stolen the drip tip. Even though he doesn't smoke, he's decided to try vaping 0 mg to feed his sweet tooth, to help with his diet (type 2 diabetic). I've set him up with one of my ego's & a carto, and a cheap drip tip that came with one of my first set ups. He kicked up quite a fuss when he saw the new pretty, so I gave in, at least temporarily.....

Oh, this dog is special. You know how most dogs do the dry-heaving thing before politely making a deposit? Not this one. With no warning whatsoever, she projectiles the hugest volume you've ever seen. And I've had rottweilers. I know volume....

It was Kayte's grandson & he's OK now. Somehow the bugger got hold of a piece of toenail.....

I know, right? I'm reminded of my first reading of "The Stand". I read all Steven King's books, usually curled up on the couch with a snack. If you've read it, you know this book starts with a super-flu that kills people by expulsion of all their bodily fluids, from every orifice. I had to put my snack away until I read past that part.

If you've read it, you know this book starts with a super-flu that kills people by expulsion of all their bodily fluids, from every orifice. I had to put my snack away until I read past that part.

DH reads him, also the ones under Richard Bachman. Did you read the "Dark Tower" series? I think that's what it was called. DH did, he was really a bit miffed with the last one. Miffed, but not surprised.

.......actually I read "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston. It's a non-fiction book mainly about the Ebola virus. It was a really interesting read. It is basically what you described above....

Yep, I've read them all, except for his newest (but Amazon has reminded me that I need to). I've even waded through some of his non-fiction stuff. The Dark Tower series really couldn't have ended any other way, IMO.

The Stand is probably my personal favorite. I have yet to see any of King's works translate to the screen. Too much of his stories involve mental stuff. Hard to translate. Glad to see you here, BTW

hi charm i really thought that The Dead Zone was pretty good (not as good as the book but good cause i love christopher walken) but the rest i have seen didn't come close to the books. i meant to watch The Dome last night but forgot. i never read that book yet tho.
