Felix, I replied to you via PM cos i was unable to post a few days ago. Hope you got it.

1) You see people here have tried a ton of different brands, are e-cigs flimsy? Why the collections?
The technology is far from perfect as atomisers and batteries are mostly considered to be consumables and subject to wear and tear.

2) How much 'smoking' can you get out of a car/replacement tip? Is it similar to a cigarette or two or a pack? How much smoking can you get out of a battery?
The M401 is great with battery life. Even a heavy vaper will usually need only about 2 fully charged batteries a day. The carts are smaller and holds less liquid. I could easily refill the cart 6-8 times a day. Thats the price we have to pay for a cigarette sized e-cig. If you get the M201, the carts can hold much more liquid but the size is much bigger/longer.

3) Is it necessary to really put a drop of liquid on the atomizer (I saw it on a video here) to get good vapor or do these do well without?
Yes, i recommend refilling and dripping.

4) How long can I realistically use this set? Which part is the most flimsy on e-cigs?
The atomiser. Mine lasted for more than 2 months and then started to get a little weak but still usable. IMO, the Mseries produces the best e-cigs in the market. Atomiser lifespan has a lot to do with usage and maintenance. The good news is, an atomiser costs only $8 from absolutelyecigs and $80 worth of atomisers will easily last you a year.

Just a short update on my M402 experience:
It seems both the batteries and the atomizer are working fine. The problem I think is with the newer, smaller carts, which are not transferring the liquid so well to the coil.

I found that a drop on the atomizer with an empty cartridge is giving me about 10 puffs of which the first 5-6 are amazing (sometimes even too strong ;)). The only issue I find with dripping - it is a little inconvenient to drip when I am outside in public places.

I drip very carefully and never more than a drop, but is this going to shorten my atomizer's life?

Fedor, thanx 4 the PM. It took me a long time to get a hold of it.

Does anybody ever tried a bigger/different brand cart on M402?
&
Wondering if M401 battery would fit M402...

The M401 and M402 are completely interchangeable, the only difference is the battery size/charge. They use the same charger, same atomizer, same carts...

The Intellicig Evo (a customized M401/M402) has a larger cart that I'm told can be used with any M401/M402, but I'm also told there isn't much difference to it...

After a week with the M401 as my first electronic cigarette, I'm afraid I may be spoiled. I was a pack a day smoker, but haven't hit the 'cutoff' once so far. I keep a pack of camel turkish gold (about the strongest nicotine analog with a filter) in my pocket at all times, but haven't even opened it.

I will have to agree the stock smoking liquid that comes with it is kinda funky. A little too harsh and kicky for my tastes. Finally figured out what it taste like though - Basics (if you ever had that brand you know). The factory mint is quite nice - very close to B&H menthols actually. It does have a little tobacco taste in it BTW. Looking forward to my little bottle of Pure turkish blend sitting in the fridge...

The carts are small, yes. I go through about 5 a day. Given that the wholesale of them is 35 cents or less in quantities of 100 or more, I politely ask the vendors to consider dropping the 5 packs to to $3.95 (or even $2.95) to be just less then a pack of analog cigs they replace. At that price many would simply buy the 5 pack carts by the ten (a carton?) instead of refilling simply on convenience. Just a friendly suggestion.

A warning for new users. Since the battery happily puts out on a near constant basis, you *may* find yourself chain smoking at one point with this 'infinite cigarette'. Resist the temptation, the nicotine bleahs aren't fun and it is bad for your blood pressure. My gills turned green and the brief dizziness and headache were not fun.

Once I established a bit of self discipline, it was smooth sailing. Three thumbs up for this very very well made (I can only voice for Smoore) electronic cigarette. The fit and finish is surprising, could've been hand made in Switzerland if I didn't know better. Dropped it a couple times on concrete and it keeps on ticking. You can even stick it in your ear and type with it in your hand just like an analog.

Hi Everyone,

I'm another newbie to the forum and yes Fedor I read your review a while back and decided to try the 402 for myself. You ought to get a kickback from the manufacturer based on all the posts I've read :). I first tried an e-cig at a shopping mall in the U.S. back in Nov. and have been toying with the idea of purchasing one ever since. Some nice asian guys had a demo booth set up (forget the name of the unit) and my sister and I gave it a test run. We were quite surprised at the hit we got (sis about coughed up a lung) and the fact that there was no smoke was pretty impressive. I tried the lighter version and it was satifying but the flavor was a little rough. Also, the price was $100 so that discouraged us at the time. Since then I have researched the subject on the web looking for a good unit at a fair price when I came across Fedor's review. I ordered my unit (from your favorite supplier) Feb. 19 and I am anixously awaiting delivery. Unfortunately it was just after the Chinese New Year and Absolutely eCigs wrote me that the order may be delayed as they were just returning to work (must be a real throw down in China!). Lot's of good info. on this forum and I appreciate all the good input by everyone to help get me started with my new e-cig. Thanks!

Hello,

This is my first post here, and I wanted to say: Fedor, you sold me! I just ordered the M401. So far the customer service has been above and beyond. I accidentally ordered 201 cartridges, and they agreed to switch them minutes later. I asked about U.S. adapters, and they said that they always ship U.S. adapters to those in the U.S. So, long story short, I can't wait for next week! I am currently still smoking, though I am down to about 6 a day. What a relief it will be to smoke and now be damaging the health of those I care about! And with the recent federal tax increase on tobacco...

Thanks for the lead!

Cheers,
-Mickey

First of all, thanks to all of you with the nice comments. I actually do wish i am getting some kickbacks but i don't think that will happen unless i persuade a supplier to order 20,000 starter kits from them.

What i'm doing probably don't mean much to them since its only a few retail customers now and then.

But i'm glad you guys like this ecig. IMO, its really the best and most reliable in its class right now.

Thats a great video, Gallardo.

This just in.....

Absolutely eCigs has just confirmed with me that all M401 and M402 models now comes with a 7 second cut off.

Apparently, it has been so for at least the past week or so. Makes me wonder why they did not announce it. Pressure from resellers?

Anyway, i think its a great feature. Will let you guys know when i get more news.

Now if only they (Smoore) started making cigarillos/cigars...

FYI, the atomizers are indeed quite beefy - but they do not like the smoking liquid too thick (due to the big tightly woven bridge screen is my guess). Mixed 30% Glycerin with some Pure liquid and had to add in a few drops of distilled water to keep the atomizer happy.

Really? I only use pure liquid without any glycerin. They smoke very well for me. One thing though, don't overfill it.

Besides that, the atomiser works fine for me. The best i've had, actually.

for the people with 402's, is the throat hit consistent? and how much in ml does those little cartridges hold?

Its very consistent for me. Its actually the exact feel you'll get from an M401 but with a shorter battery. The M402 does seem like it is a little easier to drag but i don't know if its just in my head.

One cartridge can hold from 0.3 - 0.5ml.

I agree, these atomizers work great. Glycerin is much thicker then PG, that's all - and these atomizers seem to like the standard liquid consistency.

Okay so this was my first e-cig purchase. I used to smoke but don't smoke anymore. Anway I like a casual cigarette every now and again. This is my first and only attempt with e-cigs.

I bought the M402 because it was not too big but has decent battery life. I recieved a 4 hole atomizer with a 7 second cut off battery. Upon arrival, I let the batteries charge. It only took 15 minutes (or so I thought) for the light to blink between red and green. After I took it out I gave it a whirl.

At first I was reallly disappointed with it. The throat hit was there, but the vapor was minimal when compared to the real thing. It also was difficult to get a consistent drag on it. I got 10 carts and after a few minutes thought i may go through just that one. However, I spent a good amount of money on these and was not willing to just throw it away.

10 carts later, i just bought my first two bottles of Janty liquid. These things are great. I guess you just have to learn how to use them. For instance, I have to vape them differently then how I'd actually smoke a cigarette and you can't tell when a battery is fully charged so just leave em on! When i learned how to use it properly it became very enjoyable. These things are turning out to be my best purchase of 2010.

What I have noticed:
-It takes about 2-4 hours to recharge a battery. I can't tell when it is fully charged, however, as the blinking between red and green seems to begin about 30 minutes in.
-A fully charged battery can use about 2 cartridges.
-I feel that each cartridge is about 5-8 real life cigs. The first 4 'cigs' of a cart are great and you get good vapor while the last few are weaker but respectable.
-The biggest problem I have is that the filaments in the cartridges which hold the liquid can get sucked up into the atomizer quite easily. They aren't really secured down to the bottom and with at least 3 of my cartridges I see about half the filaments sucked up and attached to the atomizer. This is annoying as A) it is probably reducing the life of my atomizer substantially and B) tastes terrible.
-While vaping, I really lost track of time and can easily go through a whole cartridge without even realizing it.
-To me they are nearly if not as satisfying as a real cigarette without the guilt of one.
-I also smoked hookah and must say I really dig the variety of flavors. I don't miss hookah at all.
-I can honestly say I have no desire to smoke hookah or cigarettes with this thing but again my consumption is probably significantly lower than most people on here.

All in all, from the standpoint of the initial purchase I am very satisfied and want to thank you guys on this thread for recommending it. Now, i just hope the shelf life is good.

Do you guys have any advice on what to do with the filaments in the cartridges getting sucked up into the atomizer? Are there different cartridges I can purchase where the filaments are secured? Have you guys experienced this problem? Part of me thinks that i am still 'learning' how to vape and may be pulling too hard as i don't think anyone has mentioned this problem before. Anyway, I recommend it and thanks again guys.

Drip a few drops on the atomiser each time you refill. This should solve your problem.

Okay so I am getting my first liquids hopefully within the week. I have a few questions regarding those.

How many drops do you use to refill your cart?
Do you replace your filaments each time you refill the cart or just drip into the plastic container with the filaments inside?
Does dripping on the atomizer directly ruin it possibly?
How many carts can I expect ot refill with a 10ml container?

I'm guessing Fedor our local SMOORE expert will be answering these. Thanks in advance sir

Received my 402 the day after I made first post and I have been using it pretty heavy especially at work where I have to leave the property to smoke. That's a two block walk and a drive so I have literally had to walk a mile for a camel. What's next...second hand vapor .8-o

My observations pretty much echo honsano. I too was a little disappointed that my expectations were not fully realized with the use of the (medium) carts. I only get a couple of good sessions before the vapor and hit drop off but I am overall pleased with the product. I went through three packs of carts a lot quicker than I realized so I did some research and ordered some liquid from a US supplier. I think that once I receive my order of liquid (johnsoncreeksmokejuice.com/) I will see a marked increase in both the hit and vapor and I certainly have plenty of spare carts to refill. I also noticed that the battery was not sealing correctly and the unit appeared a little crooked when I first used it. Upon close examination I discovered a piece of the gasket in the atomizer was broken and was preventing the battery from mating properly. I wrote to AbsolutelyEcigs but they said the gasket did not form a perfect circle around the atomizer and this should not affect performance. I think the piece I removed was merely extra gasket material that was left over from the manufacturing process and the unit seems to be functioning properly and is no longer crooked. They also mixed up a menthol cart in my marlboro but this was a pleasant surprise since I was curious about the menthol's. :cool:I think the battery life may be extended if the battery is removed from the atomizer between usage but I have not proven this as of yet. If the battery is only loaded during use then this cannot be the case. If the battery makes continuity when screwed into place then this might be true. Eventually I'll have to put the meter on it (sorry - electrical engineer here :D). I also asked them about the short cart usage and they suggested buying some liquid or possibly an M201. The website I ordered the liquid from looks impressive and I will keep you posted on the outcome as I ordered a sampler kit with all their products. They also offer a kit with all the necessary tools for refilling. These people seem serious about their vaping!!

Has anyone tried doubling up on the wool in one cart on a M402? I wondered if that might improve the hit/duration and vapor delivery since it's so small. I'm out of carts :(

I don't usually count drops. I stick the needle of a syringe all the way to the bottom of the cart, and fill it till the fiber is fully submerged in liquid. Don't overfill though.

I don't replace filaments/ fiber. I typically use them for a few days and change a new one. They are cheap enough to let you do that. I judge when i have to change a cart based on the bite marks it has on it. LOL...Yes, i bite carts....

Even if dripping will ruin an atomiser sooner, i'll still do it. Its worth it. Therefore, I don't really know. Again, its cheap enough to replace.

To fill a cart will probably take from 0.3 - 0.5ml. Divide that with 10ml.

Hope this helps.
