Well it was an epidemic, teens dying all over the place, nicotine flowing freely in the schools, tax revenues were down, the politicians knew they had to do something, right? So a few eggs got broken but the omelet was prepared and placed in the oven. The government saved thousands of young people who are our future while maintaining tax revenues. They did something; it satisfied the modern day puritans, the medical professionals and saved those jobs dependent upon endlessly increasing tax revenues all while riding the backs of the socially undesirable.
The only people harmed are a bunch of nicotine addicted fools and their dealers.

How sad. I was infuriated to see the photo of Gov Baker clapping and the photo of him and the antivape politicians all smiles as he signs the bill to destroy vaping and vape shops.
I have no words to express my anger towards Baker. And to think I voted him into office way back when. I hope he gets his upcomings soon. Whatever his reasons, whether it be health concerns, not wanting to lose his Master tobacco Settlement money or just plain ignorance of the facts/truth, none of them are justified.

Sad but true.

I need to correct the statement I made about menthol cigs being available in smoke shops. I stopped in on my favorite gas station convenient store and asked them about the updates. NO MENTHOL cigs, tobacco, chew, ANYWHERE.
Out of revenge, I so want to take out a page in the Boston Globe instructing people how they can turn a regular cigarette into a menthol with a simple, single menthol crystal. But then they would ban all menthol products coming into the state. No more Salon Pas, Ben Gay, chapstick, nasal sprays, bath salts, cough drops, toothpaste,........They'll all be behind the counter like Sudafed, afraid of distilling them into crystal salts. Believe me, I'm not an advocate for menthol
cigarettes but does he realize how insane this is?

Sometimes you get a hint of what they are before you vote but most politicians are nothing but chameleons and you never really know them until they are in power. With power and problems their colors change to enhance their chances of survival.

I think he's looking to further his political career by getting all this nationwide attention. In his words the federal government wouldn't regulate vaping so he decided to. I would guess most people don't consider him the trendsetter he thinks he is. More like a bansetter.

ive been emailing him and karyn Polito every week. I get some lame response back but I’m also emailing my reps monthly. I’ve made it clear how I feel about the ban, attached independent studies and promised not to vote for them if it’s not lifted lol!!

Damn it. I was at their grand opening. Good people ....ed over for MSA blood money.

This is going to be one of those things that in 20 or 50 years they're going to look back as one of the biggest idiot moves as far as health concerns go of the last hundred years. They're going to use this is an example for the CDC of what not to do and for the Health Department's etcetera to learn from. Maybe they'll even delve deeper into the corruption aspect of it basically a missed opportunity for Public Health I mean unless by that time we have mandatory euthanasia at a certain age because we're so overpopulated or something but for my understanding reproduction rates are going down so that might not be a problem.. I hope it doesn't go the other way and instead they're championing the cause for all of the massive early deaths that they caused saving tons of taxpayer money

I'm not sure. The FTC would need to somehow monitor online vape sales shipped to MA residents. How do they do that?

I don't think they could monitor sales. I suspect they just operate on fear. They would be able to order stuff themselves, and take legal action against any vendor who made the sale. Don't know what kind of legal action they could use against out of State vendors but I doubt anyone would want to take the chance and risk the cost of going to court.

Well, it will be lifted 2 weeks early (Dec. 11) but Baker just signed a Bill banning menthol cigs and all flavored tobacco and vape products starting this June. Tobacco flavors only (NETs anyone?) and vape products will be taxed as cigarettes at 75%. But you probably already know this.

And he added that someone had to make the first step and that hopefully MA will be the example for the rest of the states.

I feel nothing but pure venom in my heart.

ETA: I heard that you will be able to purchase menthol cigs only at smoke shops. The whole thing messes up sales for convenience stores/gas stations. And if you can then get menthol cigs at a smoke shop, why not let us buy flavored juice at a smoke/vape shop?. The whole thing is imbecilic.
I'm confused. (surprise!), so what will we be able to buy once the 11th gets here?
Can we buy DIY stuff, Nic in particular? Online? Only tobacco flavors?
Or just move south:)

Good question. I don't think our governor knows what direction he wants to take this in. You can check the mass.gov website for updates. Just google vape ban MA.

Let me guess, MA is banning e-cigs but won't touch the much more deadly traditional cigarettes. Amirite? I would respect them much more if they banned it ALL, but they won't. Ask yourself why not and then you'll see it's not about health, but about the $$$$$$ in tax revenue.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Get into DIY but do not buy yo nicotine from a store that has "nic" or "vape" or "vapor" in their name.

I would normally suggest heartland vapes but their name is in the return address so you'll have to go with someone else. You know, it is actually against FedEx and UPS rules to ship nicotine. Then you have the idiot mafia running your state and you might be in a pickle.
