Well, my mom lost her 15 year companion last week, Michael the Ridgeback Mutt. It was very sad, of course, but he's been feeling bad for a long time and I feel mostly relieved about him being out of pain. My mom is bearing up really well, considering how close they were.

Everything I mix lately is a disaster. I was happily vaping Donut Run and decided when the tank was low to add some of a plain banana mix I had made, thinking I would get like a slightly spicy, doughy banana. Banana french toast maybe? I'm vaping burnt banana, lol. It kills me to dump juice. I'm so like "my precious" about it... but this may be a special exception.

I am so sorry about your Mom's buddy It is hard when you lose a pet...they are members of the family.

Awwww! I hate when I mix something and planning it to be great, but it turns out the complete opposite. You crack me up "my precious" I say that too so it makes me laugh extra hard to hear someone else say it!

Oddly enough, now that i'm resigned to vaping it, I like it better. That "taste is subjective" phrase gets on my nerves, but I have to admit it's totally true..and even within the same person, over time it's so variable. Taste perception is a weird duck.

Can someone tell me why nicotine tends to be measured in 3mg increments? You know, why ejuice is generally available at 3mg nicotine per ml, 6mg, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36---instead of like 2,4,6,8? I figure there must be some practical reason for it since people usually start out diluting an even number measurement: 100mg nic. When you divide that by three you get a 33.33333333 (ad infinitum). Seems like it would just be easier to cut it in half, then in half again?

Oh wait...derp. 100...50...25... 17.5
I guess that becomes even more confusing than doing 3s. I dunno. Somebody enlighten me about this please!

Some places do 2 or 4 mg increments, which I hate since I'm used to 3mg increments. Oh, but to answer your question.....because 3 is a magical number. Happens to be my favorite. Look in the dictionary under trimentals. Explains everything. It is sort of like fractals. 3's become increasingly easy to work with exponentially so more and more measurement systems are converting to trimentals.

One thing to keep in mind is raw nicotine is shipped to consumers at 100mg/ml dilutions. Dino gets his nicotine in a much higher rate. For the average consumer to make 24mg nicotine juice they would have to mix 24% of the total with 100 mg/ml nicotine. Dino's stock would be a little closer to 10% of the total to get 24mg content nicotine juice.

It's close to that...

But here's the best way for me to get into this with out going uber geek...

In order to TEST nicotine content you have to use chemicals in test tubes mixed with the e juice. In order to keep the procedure "simple" and make the math easy... it's better to use standardized amounts of nicotine content juice.

This much e juice with this much chemical A (blue in color) and this much chemical B (turns the blue to yellow) means it's 12mg/ml e juice. If the yellow coloring is too light it's below the threshold, if it's greenish then it's above the threshold.

Anyone have any parts lying around? I took my 2 unused smy stingray clone tubes and bought parts to make mods. Nemmy buttons worked and 20x.5 hybrid caps worked. The nemmy rings, however, are too big with the hybrid caps making more battery space so the switch needs to be threaded all the way or there's too much room and the button doesn't make contact, and so when the locking ring is on and the switch on all the way there's zero throw. If I take the ring off and just use the switch, voila! But that's fugly and unsafe.

Looking for locking rings OR caps that might fit a stingray. I think I'm done buying and trying out parts to get this right and now am desperate for other options.

So the fractal thing was completely a joke then? (color me stupid) I just ask because POV mentioned it too...but I'm guessing the joke just whooshed over my head. I like the "ain't broke don't fix it" explanation--works for me.

3 IS a magic number, though. That much is true, because learned it on Schoolhouse Rock.
