I went on a huge hiking adventure yesterday from almost 2 to 4 in the woods behind my house with my lil buddy! We had a blast!

I get like this about phone calls too! I call it phone-phobia and everybody I know pretty much knows about it (and is annoyed by it...) It's hard to understand for people who don't feel that way, I guess.

So...this won't seem like it's MadTown related at first, but bear with me.....

I got ahold of a bottle of five pawns' Black Flag Fallen, their newest "exclusive" flavor. They've been teasing it for months, and then set a limited retail release, and finally offered it on their website. I like most of their line, and the flavor profile - espresso infused with black truffle cream - was intriguing as h-e-double-hockey-sticks [edited], so I jumped. I gave it a try, and here are my thoughts:

Is it good? Yes, it's VERY good. The espresso is...."delicate"...if you can ever say that about espresso, the truffle is there but not "oily" like some truffle flavors can be, and the cream proportion is spot-on. They've definitely spent some time and effort on this flavor, and it shows. Is it $1per mL good? Maybe. When I was working and had disposable income, the "maybe" could shift toward "yes," but being broke I have to say "no," and here's why:

Why would I spend boutique prices when there are places like MadTown? At this point in my vaping journey, 99.8% of liquids are like steak; you can get an excellent cut of steak, cooked perfectly, for around $30 anywhere in the world. If you go to a steakhouse that charges $50 or more for the same steak, you're not getting any higher quality, nor are you getting a better cook - medium rare is medium rare. You're paying to sit in that building. If, however, you want molecular gastronomy on your plate, you're gonna pay more, and rightly so. Molecular gastronomy every night, though, would get exhausting. I like my steak, and Dino is by-God a world-class grillmaster in this metaphor.

Every once in a great while, I do like some molecular gastronomy on my plate (and in my atty), and on those times I'll load up some five pawns. However, when I want a prime cut of beef cooked perfectly, I'll be looking Dino's way. Five Pawns' Black Flag Fallen is an excellent coffee-based vape, but it's not SO excellent it has any hope of replacing Dino's Cup of Joe as my morning go-to. It will, instead, be my dessert vape for the times my wife and I indulge our foodie sides and skip the steakhouse.

Changed my mind and removed the rant. Will be limiting my communications here from now on. Feel free to PM for off-forum contact details, as I'd love to keep in touch on a medium where the owners allow public discussion of all issues, including the management of said medium. This whole thing, after re-reading the TOS and forum rules (which differ), tastes far too "control of the press" for my libertarian soul to stomach.

Not that I'm "complaining about the rules". As I've just had confirmed via private message, that would be against the rules. I'm just (fingers crossed) hoping that referencing complaints about the rules is not also a violation.

On a random, unrelated note, did anyone see the movie "The Lives of Others" (2006)? It is set in 1980's East Germany during the years before the wall came down. Really worthwhile, fascinating movie.

PS: I don't really expect any response, btw. Better just to leave it alone, if only for MT's sake.

I also wanted to say how sorry I am that Fenway left. I don't know any more about the circumstances of his leaving than what is here in the thread, but I can completely sympathize with the reasons he expressed for leaving the forum.

I won't comment on the forum rules (since that is a violation of the rules), but to me it's sad and angering that he felt so oppressed by them that he had to leave. His contributions will be missed.
