Good Morning/Day/Evening to you all! :) It is another great day to be alive! I am no poet (and I "no-it") but while claiming no originality in the least, I wanted to share with you my morning thoughts this day. And yes Yard, just this very day, I too could sense the first hints of Fall on this very day that before she is done, the so called "dog days" of August are still in full force! (caveat: no offense if that term is lost on those outside of the Southern US but the "dog days of August" are a reference to the intense humid heat we have at this time of year. ;))

------------------------------------------

Good morning Lord, I know you have a lot of people that need your help again today but I just wanted to take a moment of your time. As I sat here this morning watching the sun begin its morning rise from the eastern sky, I couldn't help but think at how many thousands of these you have granted me with so many more yet to come.

As the earth wakes from her slumber and the first rays of light touch the darkened sky, I couldn't help but think how beautiful this all is Lord. It's so peaceful yet inspiring to watch the night fade into the light that it's sometimes hard to tell where the earth stops and Heaven begins. I know it's nothing new Lord, especially when I think at how many countless times this has happened and I was either too busy to notice or just swept up in the hustle and bustle of life.

But it was really grand today. Just sitting here content Lord and for a change, not a care in the world as I put it all on hold to soak in the majesty of your handiwork. The majesty of its silence is almost deafening in its grandeur save for the humming of this creature sitting on the arm of my chair. I'll be honest; I wasn't sure you had gotten it right, me being a dog man all my life.

But I happily admit that when Zip finished his years of service over 5 years ago and I somehow managed to wind up with this Siamese cat for Goodness sakes, you knew exactly what I needed. I am all she knows Lord so forgive her if she comes running with a whistle or sits obediently by my side every waking moment. I think you forgot to tell her she's a cat but that's okay. I wouldn't have her any other way.

Help me recall Lord as I sit here all comfortable and content though just how blessed I am. I wont have to fight with another of Your creatures today for food nor drink; I wont have to wonder where I'll lay my head down for rest at the end of this day but millions will Lord. And even if they don't have to fight for the necessities most still wont have had the luxury of taking in this spectacle for what it truly is.

So help remind me please when I have a chance of thought word or deed to share a morsel of encouragement or thanks or even just a moment of peace, that it is Your Will that I should do so. After all, it has been countless others who did so for me all these years that helped me reach this place. It is the very least I can do to show my thanks.

I wont keep you Lord. I know after the millions of years this old world has spun on its axis that one of your creatures, my fellow human beings, seem hell bent on destroying what is left of her. Let me just thank You again Lord for this day. I can make of it what I will. Let me do so with a moment of clarity that helps show just what another new beginning you have blessed us with yet again today.

--------------------------------------------------

Have a blessed day y'all!

Steve :)

Thanks for the post Major and good evening from Las Vegas. Amazing what happens when we are receptive to life. Today I created the most amazing energy by connecting to another, its the stuff that dreams are made of. Remember our ability to create is only limited by our own thoughts. Ignore the thoughts and embrace the boundless energy that you are.

Good Morning Major!

From what is dear, grief is born,
from what is dear, fear is born.
For someone freed from what is dear
there is no grief
-- so why fear?

From what is loved, grief is born,
from what is loved, fear is born.
For someone freed from what is loved,
there is no grief
-- so why fear?

From delight, grief is born,
from delight, fear is born.
For someone freed from delight
there is no grief
-- so why fear?

From sensuality, grief is born,
from sensuality, fear is born.
For someone freed from sensuality
there is no grief
-- so why fear?

From craving, grief is born,
from craving, fear is born.
For someone freed from craving
there is no grief
-- so why fear?

Good Morning Major!

I hope that that spark of life in you is igniting a fire...a fire of hope, tenacity, and resolve.

Good Morning/Day/Evening All! :) Well we have reached the end of another week and the weekend looms for many of you! I hope all have made it through with a minimum of discomfort and can spend some time with your loved ones this weekend.

I saw a feel good story this week about a Momma dog that returned to a burning home 5 times to save her babies. I suppose some would argue that she didn't know any better and that it was pure instinct; survival of her species if you will. For me, if that's all we can take away from one of life's daily lessons is that, well, maybe more of us human beings could learn something from that old hound. ;)

Have a great weekend all! :)

Good Morning Major!

I like the story you posted Major. I did feel a little sad when it was over though; all I could think was dog gone!:)
I think if more people listened to their gut instincts -tempered with a little brain power- our world would be a much, much, better place. I like to think that I am very instintive person. I fought against my instincts for almost the first 20 years of my life and finally learned to listen to them....but not blindly!

“If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”
- Bruce Lee

Hope it's a great day buddy.

Good Morning Major!

Training my Gizmo is a lot of work. He lunges toward me for hugs and then pulls back, moves close enough to touch my hair and then runs away. But you can only move as fast as he wants to. It works on both sides. He can inflict a nasty bite and me flinching only reinforces his fear. Other birds have bitten my face and it's hard not to scream or move suddenly. We have to work together in short bursts building up trust.

These things take time.
