I see that the new Buzz Pros have larger lightning bolt cutouts to allow better venting of battery gases. So could one put a dowel in the body of a classic device for support, then use a step drill to add a few more holes in the body, then touch up with paint?

Is there some surface/vent opening formula?

I was thinking of adding 6 more holes, same diameter, 3 around center, and maybe 3 more near top.

PS: I own a drill press.

If your worried about it. I've been using notcig PVs for around 2 yrs. and never had issue with them beings they have so much built in protection. As a matter of fact that protection is sometimes annoying because it shuts off when I want it to go but it's for my own protection. Those large cuts in the sides that Mike has to put in them are really redundant and were put there just to serve the interest of one person. We don't live in a democratic world do we.
But to get back to your question, if you do it might void your warranty.

No formula that I have heard of. Ideally symmetric, 3 holes in a tier

(The delrin endcap should pop in a significant over pressure, before the solid metal, screwed in, topcap.)

Edit: just realized op already has an ipro, vs. original infinity,so I deleted oi related info :)

IF you are going to ( and I dont believe you need to ) then use the same pattern as we have on it already ! the placement you are talking about sounds OK to me , do this at your own risk and YES it will void the warranty.
