Ok that's what I was thinking. Seems kind of inconvenient. Hopefully my local B&M juice does not require this. I am going to venture out this weekend to see what I can find!

It might seem inconvenient but you have to remember that some places have 100 or more flavors with different different mixes of pg/vg/nic in them. The combination available would take up a ton of space to have every flavor and mix steeped. And if you want something like more flavor added then you're adding flavor to a juice that's already been sitting for a couple weeks. Don't be put off by having to let your flavors sit for a week or two before you get the full taste out of them. There's some very good juice out there that needs to sit and you don't want to miss out on something like that.

Are sample packs usually available in B&M locations or is that more of an online find?

A lot of B&M locations will let you try/sample diff flavors for free, especially when they know you are new to vaping. I don't use B&M shops anymore just because it's more convenient and cheaper to buy online for me. But for someone just starting out, it's a good way to get an idea of what you do/don't like and what you want. It's also nice to have someone there in person that can give you tips and advice too when you're just starting.

I don't think I am understanding how this works. When I go to a Vape store they are going to custom make my juice? I figured it was all premade in a factory somewhere.

Like I said I plan on visiting a couple stores this weekend so maybe I will have a moment of clarity.

It IS inconvenient for somebody trying to QUIT smoking.

So NO they don't need to "remember that some places have 100 or more flavors"; what they need is a SIMPLE formula to get STARTED on Vaping to replace the smoking.

They can find out about steeping LATER - if they want.

Some will buy their juice pre made and some will make it themselves. You will have to keep an open mind when I comes to juice because it's so subjective, everyone has different tastes. What taste horrible to someone will be amazing to someone else.

Since you mention it. Are there any noticeable differences between PG/VG juice? Or does it all boil down to preference?

Preference, juice is pretty much entirely preference. Think of it like ordering a pizza w/your friends. Some of you like onions, some of you hate onions, and some are allergic to onions. It's a based on what you like/don't like.

Good point. I am definitely willing to experiment eventually and look forward to it in fact! However I am kind of in "hurry up and find an analog replacement while I am motivated to do so" mode.

Big differences... boils down to this... higher VG= more vapor, less flavor/throat hit. higher PG= more flavor/throat hit, less thick vapor...

Most juices are a ratio 70:30, 50:50 etc... I wouldnt worry too much about it until you get more into it... if confronted with the choice, my advice would be to go with a 70:30 PG:VG mix. In my opinion, for someone trying to quit smoking, the flavor and throat hit are most important and for those you want a higher proportion of PG- just make sure to drink lots of water.

No, you do not have to look for custom made stuff, just stick to the easy stuff to get started.

I'm sure it happens all the time some person goes to get some ejuice to help them quit smoking, they go to a vapor store, the sales people are only to happy to introduce them to the wide wonderful world of custom made flavors, they order some custom made stuff, and after they pay and walking about the door its like
Salesperson: "Oh! And don't forget to let them steep for a few days!"
Customer: "Whaa.....?"

Of course he goes and uses the thing anyway, and it STINKS, and he gives up and goes RIGHT BACK TO SMOKING.

So Keep It Simple. Just get simple uncomplicated ejuice that wont need steeping, and keep in mind that once you get off the smokes your tastebuds are going to change anyway so don't buy too much ejuice.

PG wicks better and is supposed to enhance flavor.
VG gives more fog.

If you have a choice, I'd suggest you start with 50/50 and adjust from there.

If you want to cut down on nicotine, I'd look for 24mg PG only unflavored ejuice; then buy some USP grade Glycerin from the Pharmacy (that is VG).

Now you can take some of that 24mg and mix it 1:1 with VG, and you will have 12mg ejuice in a 50/50 mix.
Meanwhile you can use the straight 24mg PG in another tank if you need it occassionally.

I have seen this mentioned before. Why is drinking water important?

Vaping tends to dry you out; I think it much of the fog you exhale contains water vapor from your lungs that was absorbed by the vapor you inhaled.

(For me personally I haven't noticed anything; but I probably use high VG blend. I'm a fogger not a taster.)

The PG tends to dry you out- dont be scared- it sounds worse than it is... but a higher PG mix will dry your mouth and lips some- drinking water helps resolve this... it comes down to finding the balance that works for you... the higher the VG, the less dry issues you will have but also the thicker and less sweet the juice will be.

For me, my first experience with an eCig was Blu... when I used them I would get a very heavy feeling in my chest, almost like someone was sitting on it... come to find out that Blu uses 100% VG juice. I have since gone to custom liquids from HHV at 15mg and 70:30, I find the 70:30 to be nearly perfect- great flavor, no heavy chest...
