My newest mod has short protection. Screwed up my build a couple days ago and it gave me a warning message. It also says check atomizer if the connection is bad. Lastly the quality of the batt is up to you. You can either use sony lg or samsung or crappy e fest. Either way it's not the mods fault

Do you realize you're quoting a post referencing a list of possible internal issues?

Those would ALL be the mods fault...

So you're supposed to use flat top batts with it? Isn't that every device? I've even heard box mods saying to use flat tops
No

Some mods recess the positive connector on the board to provide reverse polarity protection.

Without a nipple the battery would never make connection at the positive terminal.

If they didnt, the first time the battery was put in backwards, the board would be toast.

2 mods for reference that used this were the zna and the provari up to v2.5.

so you are advocating on banning mech mods?
while we are banning stuff why not motorcycles? you can fall off you know, we should only allow cars
I vape only mechs and don't need a regulated mod, they are perfectly safe for me

mech mods and our batteries are powerfull little devices the problem is that people don't think there is anything lo learn, they think ithey are just plug and play, so as I said, a little warning or awareness info on every mod on the market could minimize this a lot
Good point.

I passed 3 cars on the shoulder of the highway last night.

There were police cars fresh on the scene blocking the right lanes and the on ramp.

There was also a white sheet covering a body.

While hundreds of cars passed by.

Maybe we should ban cars too.

The fact that you think they are perfectly safe for you tells me to give you a lot of room when you vape. Sounds more like famous last words rather then someone who has real knowledge of mechs. Anyone who has real knowledge of the dangers of batteries would never say that.

Appears to be some reading comprehension issues. How calling for a voluntary withdrawal of mechs ending up banning and licensing is more then a bit over the top. The answer is that I don't care what you do, just don't push mechs as a common consumer good, which is exactly what is happening today.

Hmm...let me see, voluntary withdrawal of mechs, (if all shops/vendors were to adhere to Stubby's pretend world) would be the same result as a ban effectively?, yes.
So why should the knowledgeable and cautious vapers be punished for a tiny, minuscule percent of careless vapers and or freak accidents?,
This is the 3rd-4th time I have seen an injury due to vaping...but millions of us out there.

We should voluntarily ban Nic, bikes, knifes, alcohol, cars AND batteries going by your logic,
Warning labels & manuals, sales to adults only, c'est tout IMO.

hmmm and did you know on average 86,000 people suffer from severe damage to their body from lawn mowers each year? why isnt there legislation in progress to stop this from happening?....

It already is illegal to run someone over with a lawn mower...

I have to say, this overregulation, must ban everything and keep everyone safe thing gets on my nerves.

Let's stop selling motorcycles, power tools, lawn mowers, chain saws, knives, guns, hot coffee, fattening food, alcohol, tobacco, mech mods, nail guns, etc.

I once saw a news story where some guy yanked on an extension cord to unplug it. It whipped across the yard and the plug implanted into his forehead. I guess we better stop selling extension cords.

My college roommate set our apartment on fire trying to boil vegetable oil. Guess we should ban that, too.

We must all live in bubbles.

I always wished we could just ban stupid people... Life is dangerous, no one makes it out alive.

Last night, Dimi called this out on his show. The guy's name is James Lauria, and the story broke this week. He said it was a Atlantis 2 and a hybrid. But, he also said the victim was from "South Georgia".

P.S. As far as I know, no one has been killed by a mod.

I just skimmed about 7 pages, so this post may be redundant and preaching to the choir.

I think there is a problem with regulated batteries, in that it gives some people a false sense of security. All batteries, built in or replaceable, have the potential to vent. It doesn't matter the type of device (e-cig, phone, tablet, alarm clock, etc.) or if in it's in use or not (charging, in your pocket, sitting in a car, whatever). People need to pay at least some attention to batteries, just like they need to pay attention to whether or not the cord is frayed on something pulled into a wall.

And the media will also go for sensational over mundane. This one made me shake my head:

The text reads [In] The aftermath of the blaze, Towan's carpet is burned in three spots. However, the video banner reads E-Cigarette almost claims man's life.

Man Says E-Cigarette Exploded, Burned his Home | FOX40

I didn't watch the video, but in the text a vape shop associate states, ""People will try to use their phone chargers..." The story didn't mention the cause of the fire, but the the associate's remark, seemingly out of the blue, suggests to me that the wrong charger may have been a factor.

    In the news...

I didn't know about this. I wonder how it's going? And bummer! I buy my ADV from Vixen Vapors, no wonder they raised their prices.

    All mods can have problems.

From what I can tell mech mod problems seem to be avoidable, the result of someone not know the proper atomizer to use, or not knowing the limitations of their batteries, or not spotting a short, etc.

Regulated mod failures seem to be random and unavoidable for the most part. Some are the result of dropping it a few feet on carpet and an internal battery shorting, or an auto firing issue, or a charging issue.

I'm not saying mechs are "safer," just that everyone should learn how to use whatever they have properly, and learn what to look out for as a possible issue.
