Im not sure if these are rebranded knock-offs or not.. but Fasttech is selling pairs of Sony VTC4's for $12. Its a great price if they are genuine.
$11.87 Sony US18650VTC4 3.6V 2100mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery (2-Piece) at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
So mire playing around. I seem to be getting the resetting issue with multiple (tried 3) Sony vtc4s. Odd thing is, as I decrease wattage, the time it takes before a restart is increased. Is this a known issue?

I already have 4 of those (in my possession) ordered from inside Japan though. I just ordered these: Samsung INR18650-20R 3.6V 2000mAh Rechargeable Li-Ion Batteries (2-Pack)
They are rated at 20A but I am not a cloud chaser so they fit my needs. I ordered 4 pairs, so hopefully they work out.
If not...they will be put in rotation with my NCR18650PD batts for regulated use.
It must be noted that they outperform the Sony's @ and above 10A.
Using those Samsungs with DNA20 mods since 4 months or so: they work very well, but recently two of the four I own started showing some degradation symptoms...
They last a bit less than usual, and when fully charged those two meter a slightly lower voltage than they did when new, like 4.20V instead of the usual 4.23V I used to get out of the XTAR II. (BTW I have two XTARs, so it's not the charger)
Strangely enough, the other two still behave as new - no symptoms so far. Bought them all at once from the same vendor, they'd appear to be genuine Samsungs. Go figure...
It's like their internal resistance increases quite rapidly with the charge cycles, and considering I only charge a pair every other day each of them went thru maybe 50-60 recharge cycles so far...
Other than that, they're a good deal for the price.
Got a xtar vp1 tooo andddddddd
