Soooo...ummm...hey, Matt...

I just murdered the chip in my MCM30!!! A VERY, VERY, VERY sad night for me. If you can get more DNA30's would you be willing to breathe new life into her? Price is no object!!! 142 is my baby and I'm in a world of hurt without her.

I, being the genius that I am, was fumbling around in the dark and decided to change the battery...(you know where this is going)...

Obviously I collapsed the spring and soon my worst nightmare came to fruition...She won't wake up!!!

HELP MEEEEEEE!!!!!

It is so easy to slap a battery in backwards. The biggest downfall of the dna's is the lack of reverse polarity protection. This next batch of mods are designed to prevent such incidents ;)

I see your wink and I'll raise ya one ;)

OH??? Not gonna tell, eh Matt? :D

Well.. I'm still doing a little testing, which gets kinda sketchy forcing a battery to short circuit. But I think I came up with an acceptable solution. Also the battery contacts are getting a much needed upgrade to a phosphor bronze which will help continuity compared to the current springs.

Weird happenings around here...I decided to stick a battery in 142 before I headed to the Post Office to send it back for repair. Son of a gun decided it actually wants to work.

Here she is next to my SX350 test mod. Still thinking it would be a good idea to send it back.

Let me know what you think, Matt.

I have a DNA30 en route that I have plans for. Also have some DNA30 chip clones inbound. I would prefer to pay you to repair it since you know the build better than me.

BTW...the SX350 is an absolute monster, but for some reason, it's not bucking correctly. Most times it will display the "SHORT!" error. I'll have my others built within the next week, so that I have something to compare it to.

This is the upgraded MCM30. I've put in a nice battery holder with phosphor bronze contacts. Also added 2 PTC fuses to add more safety. The PTC fuses will stop batteries from going thermal (that hasn't happened in my mods, thank god) It will also help protect the electronics when a battery is put in backwards.

All hail Yoda-Buddha!!
