I just got home from a week in the Kissimme & Space Coast areas of central Florida. Early on in my vacation, I ordered a 2.8Ω MAP tank mod. And, it was waiting for me when I got here! Yippie!

I quickly discovered that when attached to my Precise18 I got zero air draw. Bummer. Remedied with a couple adapters used as an extension. But, still a drag. The MAP looks tuff on the P18 without the adapters ... with them, not so much.

I've got an 18650 on charge now, my other two are buried somewhere in packing and I'm not going to look for them tonight (tired). Meanwhile, I'm using a passthrough and vaping the MAP mod. Seems to be working fine so far, I'm happy to report.
I think I'm going to really enjoy this mod. :)

I always take the top off to fill. I just dump the juice into the tank. I also cut the loops on the wick and cut the fill ring at the slits a little more, seems to wick better now for me. I think you need to take the top off, especially for the cleaning process, dry burning for sure.

Thanks for your thoughts Mike..:) Dry burning is definitely something I hadn't considered needing to do. As an update, now that I'm kinda frustrated and just trying to figure out ways to make this tank seal and stay together properly, I thought..what the heck..I'll try and remove the cartomizer just for grins and see how that works....well it didn't...I could probably put it in a vice and give it a wack..but it's not coming out any other way, that's for sure...so unfortunately I guess my Map Tank adventures are over for the moment. It's a great idea...but just not working for me.

Little tip, when I changed my CE2 out on my map, I pulled the center post out then used a phillips screwdriver and slammed the .... end down on a table. Popped the old CE2 right out. When I went back in with a new CE2, I coated it with a little food service grade o-ring and seal lube. I believe that will enable easy removal the next time cause it went in alot easier than the first one that I did without it.

Is a pair of adapters the only way to use it on a P18? Anyone know of a better way?

I've pulled my BSB out of semi-retirement for now, since the MAP Tank works with it without the need for adapters. But, I'd sure like to know the recommended way to use it with a P18, if there is a more elegant (better looking?) solution.

Lovin' it so far. Wish I'd have had it for my just ended vacation.

EDIT: You know, the BSB & MAP are actually a good looking combination (IMO). And, since no adapters are needed, I see this mod giving the BSB a new lease on life. Come on fella, it's out of retirement for you 'til/unless I can figure out a good way to use the MAP with the P18.

Map tank help for Dummies??

Could someone please explain to me how to clean my map tank without destroying it.

Thanks for any help you can provide !

I just pull the top off, don't just yank it off, just move it back and forth until you can get your fingernails under the lip. Then take It off and run under water,( take the fill ring out of course). Then I gently pull the wicks out the top, dry them carefully with a paper towel. I then dry burn, dry burn and dry burn more, until the coil glows a nice bright orange. Blow on it or tap it lightly on something to get all the ash off, you can also blow down thru the top and out the bottom to get any particles that are in the air tube. Like I said earlier, I cut the loops on mine and also cut the slits on the fill ring a little wider, to let it wick better. I know this is long but its how I do it and I'm happy.

My MAP tank was waiting in the mail when I got home yesterday and OMG! Now I know what my juice taste like. Works great and looks great on my BSB. On my second tank and going strong.

Can anyone tell me how long the element last on average? Thanks Bruce!

They will last quite a while if you clean them every other tank or every tank, you don't want to build up gunk on the coil. More gunk equals longer dry burns I rotrate between two CE2's that way I always have a fresh one. It only takes a few minutes to switch them out when the tank is empty

ok, so on day 2 with the map tank and when I hit on it, I am now seeing some vapor IN the tank floating on top of the juice. What is this about?? I had not had this until just a bit ago. What could cause this "back-up" of vapor into the tank?

That's the nature of the beast w/ more room/big tanks. It's especially noticeable when the juice level gets lower. You can continue drawing after to suck that vapor out.

It arrived, Infinity isn't here yet, and the Provari is still weeks away, so here it is on a reg 650mAh battery! Hits like a .....ing champ compared to Tank Atty, LR Tank Atty, or regular Cartos!! The vape is 'warmer' but so far this is win. (to clean I can just take the top grommet off and rinse/dry with paper towel, and dry burn? How do you dry burn a carto?)

thx a lot!! lazy me :( Edit: Do I leave the e2 in the tank or do I have to remove it?

I leave it in, and dry burn till I see the bright orange glow of the coil. Then blow or lightly tap the ash off.
Ready to go again, these e2's seem like the will never die. I have had the same one now for 3 weeks, cleaned it at least 15 times, amazing!
