So I was going to replace 3 of my old batteries in my mod with my other set and I might have mistakenly mixed up one or two batteries. I had not marked them so I have no idea which is which. Since I might be using unmarried batteries, do I have to buy another two sets of batteries? I'm using HG2s. I heard it's dangerous to use unmarried batteries. Is it really that bad if you mix them once?

In the meantime, better safe than sorry. I would replace them, batteries are much cheaper than the ER.

If they were newer, maybe a couple months old, I would`nt worry to much about it, unless I was approaching or pushing the amp limit on them. If they were getting to be a year old or older, regardless, I would`nt take the chance. There is no way to tell what kind of structural integrity they have left. Double battery melt downs are very scary looking.

If you want to check them out and you have a battery charger that displays cell voltage, then discharge them to cuttoff in the same mod and then charge them. If they start off at the same voltage and match voltages throughout the charge cycle, then they are probably fine for a matched set.
