May sound ridiculous but since I quit smoking nightly leg cramps have gone away.

These nightly cramps that I'd been experiencing for the past couple of years were extreme and would often take up to an hour to complely subside. Is it due to my vaping or because I've put down cigarettes for a month and a half?

I doubt that anyone could say for sure but I'd just realized this yesterday evening. When I mentioned this to my wife she agreed that it's been quite awhile since that's happened. I'll add that perscription drugs and eating bananas for the potassium didn't help at all. Exercise made the cramping more prevalent.

So, at least in my mind, another great reason for quitting the analogs.

Hey, I had the same problem and mine also went away when I quit smoking and started vaping instead. With me it wasn't just cramps, but severe pain in my left leg that woke me up at night and kept me up. Man it was bad. I did some google digging about it, and it seems to be PAD (peripheral arterial disease) one of the prime causes of which is SMOKING!.

I knew I had a real problem and the cigs had to go, but until someone gave me an el-cheapo flea market e-cig I could not shake the analogs. The el-cheapo flea market e-cig sucked big-time, and I knew there had to be a better way. I then went through a progression of hardware ending up with a mech and an RBA. Then I was happy and off cigarettes. Have not had one since July 2nd, and can't stand the thought of smoking another one!

The cramps and pain at night went away, and my lung function is far better now too.

Thank you for posting about this!

I had something similar, Recycled and Vasovlik. In my case, leg and foot tendons spasmed and cramped; very painful and the only remedy was massage and walking the spasms off, which was also painful! Your posts have me realizing now that in the year I've been vaping, no spasms! Another thing to add to the "benefits" list!

Thanks for posting!

Same for me. Pretty much every night for the past few years, I'd wake up suddenly with an intense cramp in one or the other of my calves. I had to leap to my feet and pace around the room for a few minutes before it would subside -- not a huge huge issue in the grand scheme I suppose, but it was annoying, and somewhat concerning. And since I don't sleep alone, it was occasionally awkward. ;)

I haven't experienced the leg-cramp issue since I started vaping -- and I know it's not strictly a hydration issue because I've always drunk lots and lots of water.

Same here. Multiple reasons they've subsided but the biggest reason is oxygen saturation levels. Not enough oxygen to muscles = cramps. They don't usually check saturation unless you're in the hospital. I was and that's how I know about this. Quitting two PAD smokes eliminated the problem whether vaping or not because I was circulating more oxygen. So it might appear its due to more circulation (which it can be) but its really the oxygen IN what's being circulated that counts.
