I know, I know, I'm a day early, but I'm going to be out of town tomorrow and might not have a chance to check in. May 4th will be one full year of vaping and one full year of no smoking for me! It has gone so quickly and I never would have said a year of not smoking went by quickly if I was using patches or Chantix.
It's been a year of trying new flavors, searching for the perfect delivery system, maxing out my credit cards, finding out I don't like cartos of any kind, and most of all, making new friends on here. My husband recently asked me about this community and if I had to deal with a lot of d-bags in the forum. I told him that of all the forums I've ever visited, this one was unlike any other because of the overwhelming support and generosity of the members. I gave him some examples of threads I've read on here and the way members rushed in to offer a shoulder, a care package, advice, or just a simple "hang in there, we're here for you" post. He was astounded because, like me, he's never found that level of community on any other forum. Cue applause for admins, mods, and members. You deserve a standing ovation.
I don't have any plans to quit vaping or even lower my nic. I started at 12mg and I'm still there, although I sometimes use 6mg or even 0mg when I'm chain-vaping in the evenings. My vaping isn't hurting anyone and I really enjoy it, so for now, it's a part of my life. My daughters have all left the nest and it's just me and hubby dearest now and he's thrilled that I'm vaping. He's never asked me to try to cut back or quit. His only complaint is that it's harder to catch me when he chases me around the house because I don't get out of breath the way I did when I was smoking.

So thank you to ECF and all my friends on here. I hope vaping becomes more and more mainstream, but I also hope that as the vaping community grows, this forum stays as friendly and d-bag-free as it was when I joined.
