So i have a stingray x mech mod thats NOT a clone and i have questions i have been doing alot of research on running tanks on it and refuse to try it without help ive been reading about hybrids being extremely dangerous with tanks and so i found that mine is not because it doesnt have a direct connection from the battery to the 5-10 pin there is a piece that conducts it and wanted to know if it would be safe to run a tank on it... Thanks

should be safe...ish. as long as your build and tank are operating okay. I like to build on a regulated mod first, and make sure everything is operating correctly and there's no goofy resistance changes.

in direct to battery ("hybrids") mods, tanks aren't really the problem. it's the lack of protruding 510 pin that causes issues. there's plenty of tanks you can use on hybrid mods without any issue.

good luck!

I posted on this a few weeks ago. If you have the authentic original top cap with a pin, no worries. If you use the stingray's native hybrid adapter take a look at the illustration in my previously mentioned post. You should always examine the 510 pin and insulator before use. It's a good habit to develop. Hybrid or no. Electronics fail.

Good luck. :)

Avoid the Stingrays "hybrid" top, it makes virtually no difference in terms of voltage drop. Stick with the normal top with the floating pin, it's one of the best designs on the market.
:thumb: very true, right now i have the Coppervape skyline on my ( authentic) X and it vapes like a charm.
My brass hybrid cap stays in it's little JD "Murse" as i didn't see any significant change in vape quality using it compared to the 510 cap.
Stay with the "pin" cap and your good to go .
Enjoy.

Stick with the 510 on your Stingray (I have the copper and black authentic too). You will never notice the undetectable small difference with the hybrid connection since the volt drop with the 510 is next to absolutely nothing.

In short, nothing to be gained by the extra effort.

From experience, if it's a hybrid just stay away from using tanks with prebuilt coils, example: Aspire Atlantis. If it is an RTA with an adjustable pin, you're usually good, tanks vary.

I had a Nemesis with a hybrid top years ago, slapped the wrong tank on it being in a hurry and stupid. It didn't blow but it got hot and I flung it in the yard, never know how a battery may go.

I have 1 hybrid mod and it has a dedicated RDA, that never comes off except for building and cleaning.

On a normal mod with a pin between it and battery you're pretty much solid, as long as pin isn't wider than the atty's pin (has been seen on some clone mods). I run my Atlantis V2 on a few mechs, mainly my Infected and never have a problem.

Just remember to check, recheck and check one more time any setup you're going to run on a mech, especially when it is new to you (mod or atty).
