I have 2 mods that are partially seized up and nothing I tried is working. I tried rubber gloves, hot water, freezing, using duck tape, and soaking in a penetrating oil bath and taping the seized parts.

One is on my authentic copper vanilla, the reverse threaded lock ring is stuck and the other is on a copper hcigar nemesis I'm hoping to sell if I can get it unseize, the part that's stuck is the top cap.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Freeze the whole thing - then run hot water just on the cap to get it to expand. Whack it on the counter a couple of times. Then give it a twist. If it comes off, lube the threads with a little e-juice so it doesn't happen again.

If it does not come off... I dunno. Impact wrench with a socket two sizes larger than the diameter of the tube and a soft cloth taking up the space between the socket and the tube... It's not like it will matter if you break it if you can't use it anyway.

Hi T,
Toss the parts in an Ultrasonic cleaner.

Good luck

Thanks everyone I finally got it unstuck but after I bought spare parts to replace it but it was really cheap & I left plier marks on the top cap but didn't come with the telescopic top pin that after freeing the top cap the telescopic pin in stuck now, luckily I had a spare. Now just need to get the telescopic pin unstuck and figure out how to lock my authentic vanilla without damaging it.

This stuff is great. Also works as a great prank to smear a little under someone's car door handle.

I don't have a Vanilla, but if the lock ring can be completely removed, put a dab of anti-seize on the threads and work it back and forth a few times to distribute the lubricant.

The lock ring is reverse threaded and is connected to and stuck on the bottom cap. I soaked it in PB blaster for about 45 mins. I'm going to try to soak it longer now that I got my other mod fixed.

Ah, apologies, somehow I got the mistaken impression that you'd already gotten the lock ring off. I hope your attempts are successful!

If you can break the switch loose from the tube and just the lock ring is stuck wrap some 22 gauge kanthal between the switch and the tube tighen the switch and then crank on the reverse lock ring. This will keep the switch from getting stuck back onto the tube again. Once you get everything apart polish the threads, then use no ox id or no lox on the threads. When using the mod adjust the top contact to where the battery fits to where the switch barely screws on all the way, if your cranking the switch too tight you can either crush the battery top/dent it or you may seize the switch onto the tube. On my authentic overdose I sometimes adjust the battery rattle top contact to where I can barely screw the switch on to where it meets the tube or let it leave a little gap. Then I'm careful not to crank the lock ring too tight. Another tip that sometimes helps is take the bottom contact out and the button...
