Hello Forums,

I'm new to e-cigs, having only a 10$ mock cigarette with a few packs of standard cartridges.

I'm looking to upgrade to the Megalodon. It seems like a great starter e-cig, being excellently reviewed and affording so many customization options allowing my 'style' to develop in most directions once I become more familiar with what I'm looking for.

But herein lies my dilemma.. with so many options what do I choose? Here is the package I'm looking at THE MEGALODON

It comes with a few necessity's but I was looking for advise on a few things:
~what brass atomizer fitting to choose?
~what do I need to use cartridges with it (as well as e-juice)?
~what accessories are worth considering (like 5 volt nimh battery or map-tank etc.)?
~anything else you recommend to enhance my Megalodon/first mod experience
(I will probably do my whole order on ElectronicStix.Com You're Premier Vaping Vendor Since 2008 this time, so it'd be best if they sell it)

Also I live in Canada so do I have any worries ordering from the usa? I'm under the impression that the hardware is fine shipping cross-border but sometimes there are problems with anything containing nicotine getting past customs (this might be best to start a new thread but I thought it'd be worth a mention)

Thanks

Welcome to ECF :)

I can help with a couple of your Q's...

The Megalodon is a fine piece of kit, very well made, decently priced, and robustly all mechanical. It is pretty foolproof.

My wife and I both have one with the 510 fitting. This gives us the most options of cartos, clearos, tanks, ego tanks etc etc. If you choose the 510 option then it is your choice of how you use the Don. We used ego-t type A and type B tanks, and now we are using 510 XL clearomisers. Going this way you will need the the Don, some cartos or clearos and some juice, that is all apart from batteries and a charger of course.

I would advise getting some 18650 and some 18350 batteries so you can use the Don in the long and short form. The mini-Don with the 18350 batteries is very portable and discreet. We haven't tried the 5v option yet.

A MAP tank or similar would be fine on a Don. As the voltage is 3.7 go for 2.6-ish ohm cartos/ attys / clearos as a good starting point.

Don's are great, and they polish up pretty cute too :)

Hope that helps some,

Thanks Olef
Sorry I didn't respond, was hoping to collect a few more tips without bombarding the thread with all my questions.

I just tried to order it from the US supplier but they're out of stock for the next few days.
I guess the Megalodon has released it's v.2 model now, so they're moving fast.

Excited to give this a go, I think the MD will be a good introduction to vaping. Expect my bombardment of already answered questions to jam the forums any time now! It's kind of daunting getting started with an ecig, so many options to manipulate. I expect this to become the best part of switching my habits.

I've got a couple bottles of Dunhill juice to get started with. My favorite brand of 'sticks and stones' smokes.

The MD , will work , fine for you , definitely order the 510 connection , as they are the most common , these days . Start out with some atty's and drip tips , as well as some cartomizers . Skip the map tank , and those sorts of things , for now . Once your into vaping , for a few months , you'll have a better idea ,of what working for you . And welcome to ECF
