i must admit that since our last "chat" on the e-cigs forum, this discount code lark and how its percieved by others is something that has been playing on my mind.
i know that i have been nothing but honest when i review any product regardless if its a freebie, a purchase or a code is used. i have always stated that it was either a purchase or sent to me to for the purpose of a review but i realise that the codes are obviously still bothering a very small minority of people. i know that i would never be able to please all the members of the I.H.M. regardless of what i said, wrote or recorded, but in YOUR opinion would YOU be happier if i made a video to explain the code, how its used, how it gives you a discount and how i "benefit" from it?
i was also considering totally scrapping the "marks out of 10" scoring system like how i did in my last review on the PCC TITAN. instead of a score i just spoke about it, explained what i felt were its positives and also explained what i felt were its negatives.
i done it that way so people could see my opinion of the facts of the good and bad points and decide for themselves if they wanted to purchase one without hearing a "final score of x out of 10" which may or may not influence a purchase and thus could then be percieved as me urging them to get one so i could "benefit" from it.
and like i said before. if people think i favour the suppliers who send freebies to me or who have given me a code to use then check out the TW Ginseng review and my reviews of the stuff from e-cigs.co.uk.
fair enough, i have no code for TW (but admit i will do soon) but i do have a code for e-cigs.co.uk who i think ive only ever given one decent score of 8 out of 10. the other products i reviewed from them i gave 6 out of 10 and 6.5 out of 10..........which you must agree is not exactly a fantastic score!
i would also like to point out that i have only ever had the intention of helping people. sure, ive had plenty of rucks on here with various members of the I.H.M. but im forced to defend myself a lot on THIS forum so its expected at times!
check my video comments on youtube and you will see very clearly how i have gone out of my way to answer 99% of all the questions people ask......plus, you will even see that i have openly recommended other companies that sell "rival" e-cigs even on the reviews where i have a code. hell, ive even recommended the puresmoker pilot when replying to comments on the EVO vids!
ps.......i would like to retract my post where i said that the Mirage M401 would kick all the other M401's asses.

I need to preface this with...I like Parked and have always enjoyed his reviews. But, something went down recently that was really bugging me. I have mentioned something about it a time or two but wasn't really trying to make a big deal about it.
It was part of Parked's Dura-C thread. A newb came on and was debating on the Dura-C or a 901.
At the time, no one had used the Dura-C but Parked. There had already been mass problems with the initial Dura....and people were waiting for the Dura-C to come out.
Anyhoo, my suggestion to the newb was:
To be honest, the dura's are still in their "testing stage". They are better for those who already have devices and want to try something new. I would say they are not the best for beginners because there has been some reliability problems....and that's not something you want to be dealing with when it's the only device you have to depend on.
To start off, you might want to try something more "tried and true" for reliability....like the 901 or penstyle....then move onto something like a dura.
I actually thought that was quite reasonable advice to a newb, under the circumstances.

I was a bit shocked by that recommendation to a newbie....someone who didn't even own an ecig yet. Now it makes more sense.
I don't like "hidden agendas"....and that's what all this could seem like. I don't think Parked is a bad person, but I think he did use poor judgment by not mentioning, during his more recent reviews, his involvement with Janty...or his future business intentions.
And on another subject (which was mentioned briefly here)....I personally do not feel suppliers should be moderators. Nothing at all against Steve....I would say the same about anyone else. I just think it makes for "bad business" protocol.
