Sorry, but this is not acceptable.
RB, everyone,
This is something I've seen from time to time, and the answer I've been given in the past is that the color in e-liquid due to color variations in the nicotine, which is extracted from natural tobacco. The color varies from batch to batch and therefore so does the e-liquid.
It never seemed like a complete explanation to me though, so I've looked a little closer into it for a more detailed explanation, and it seems that the nicotine pigmentation varies from amber to red, and is reactive to many different factors, including other ingredients in the liquid, time, temperature, and exposure to light. So, with some liquids the flavor ingredients will react more strongly than others accounting for the primary differences between flavors. And stronger nicotine levels will be darker than lighter nicotine levels.
Time, temperature and exposure to light or oxygen also affect the color, without affecting the nicotine purity or potency though, and these can affect the color before or after it is added to the liquid, so sometimes a batch of a flavor will come out a slightly or radically different color than usual. It is otherwise unchanged and still of equal taste, potency, and quality.
I got this info from the supplier, and backed it up with some google research. Here are a few other posts I dug up on the subject:
