I'm really "wobbling" between the Ego and Baby J now!

Beautiful design on both items! I do prefer the size of the Ego however and the volume of vapor you got off those longer draws toward the end of the prototype video.

I was just wondering (since I own the Dura C which is also 510 based with a 180 (?) or 280 mah battery), the hit I get if extended more than a few seconds is very hot because the size of the atomizer and the amount of power feeding it.

If you increase this to a 3.7v or 370 mah battery (did I get that right?), wouldn't it burn my throat even more than the Dura-C?

Unlike you said you prefer in the video, I prefer a lot of vapor! ;) Did those extended hits you took that yielded so much "thick" vapor burn the back of your throat?

Given my preference for vapor volume and not being into that "burnt throat" feel I personally get, would you recommend I go with Baby J? I don't mean to take you off topic of this thread with this question, but I'm just trying to narrow down what would be best for me between the two new upcoming offerings.

Any advice you'd have regarding this one issue would really help me figure out which one to buy (when available)!

I know you hear it a lot, but I really think you went above and beyond with the design and sleek look of both of these new PV's mate!

Hey,

first off thanks for your compliments!

Secondly - it hards for me to tell you what to choose. If you like the dura and its way of hitting/feeling, then the Ego will satisfy you.

I think the difference between the ego and baby j is that the baby j gives a more big heavy vape - fills all of your mouth ( and brain ) and well its just good, where as the Ego is a bit more controllable - it feels a bit more like a real cigarette somehow.

And, i prefer both. Had i not designed them, i would probably have bought both - but thats not only based on the design, but also the fact that i personally can find a use for both a 510 and a 801 =D

-- And to the other poster:

No, yes, yes, yes. It does not have a larger battery than the ego. The Baby J right now has around 650 i believe - it might go a bit up or down - we are not trying to make it have 1000 or so on. All it needs to have is "enough".

The Ego however right now in the small version as shown in the video is 112 mm, and has around 370ish mAH - this will increase a bit more in the final version: and we will have a 132mm version out with close to 750 mAH.

I think the easiest way of telling the Ego and Baby J apart is = Atomizers.

The Baby J is bigger, but can use all other atomizers via adapters - and the design of it, is reminiscent of a cigar.

The Ego is smaller and more portable, but only smokes on the dura adapter.

Hope this helps a bit!

/Mik

I'm not much on using passthroughs. When I'm at my computer, I am constantly getting up for some reason or another, and find it's easier for me to just rely on batteries. Since I like the 510, and wasn't crazy about the 801 on my Stick, the Ego is probably the one I'll be looking at, if the price is right.

What adapter did your wife find? Was it this unit that altsmoke has?

AltSmoke | Personal Vaporizer 801 Battery Adapter - Adapters - PV Parts

The only intrepidation I had about that unit was that it buries the 510 atty deep in the JS. We all know how hot 510 atty's run and I was concerned about heat dissapation so I decided to hold off for the Janty unit. Of course, the Janty adapter places the atty in the stick body too but only 1/2 way.

I did measure the resistance of the adapter itself and it came out to like .2 ohms. Probably losses through the wire connecting the two connectors. Really shouldn't be enough to have an effect on performance.

As I've been using it with the JS this afternoon I'll say it's working pretty well. Getting good vapor simlar to what I get with fresh batts.

It just really nice to have a Janty Stick that works for a change! Like I said before, it's a real benefit to have standardized on the 510 atty's/carts in all my gear. I'm not a big fan of having to keep a supply of different parts. I can stock up on 510 atty's and know it covers all my rigs.

I know some people love the 810 but it was nothing but a headache for me. Glad this worked out!

So are you using that 801 to 510 adapter from altsmoke on your jantystick? I want to get the jantystick. I know rob from altsmoke personally so i'd rather order an adapter from him rather than janty. :p

I think it all depends.

The ego in the small version will have 400ish+ mah - which is more than a jantystick, ie = 5 hours-like - and the big version of the ego will have 750 mAH , which is definately enough for a day; so i have to agree with Angus, - its easier to not plug it in.

We _might_ even remove the USB charging from the Baby J - but i will discuss this more later. However if we do that its to do something else you will like. But we will see ;)

I think you underestimate the mah required to carry many of us through the day. I go through enough batteries a day to equal 2250 mah. I don't think most people vape their batteries all the way dead (especially in non traditional form-factor devices like the Janty Stick, Prodigy, etc...) instead they change batteries, or plug in, when the rapid deceleration of voltage begins.

To be honest, if you are able to vape 2250 MAH away on a daily basis, you are not the average user: and we do design for average users.

No offense ofcourse, but - it will be impossible for us - right now, - to make a design thats slick and nice, and at the same time incorporate massive mAH. But it sounds like you might have to get the jantystick XL next year ;)

Mik_Janty,

Gotta say just got a janty stick today. Wasn't really impressed with it to begin with. As he day went on though, this thing rocks! Just kept getting better and better.

My question is I seen a Joye Stick today. Is that a clone of the janty stick, or does Joye make all of the Janty stick and the stick just become available for them to sell on their own?? If Stick is manufactured by Joye... Do they also do all the manufacturing of the kissboxes and other products??
