janty stick XL- have any other info on that which you would be willing to share?

Not much im afraid.

At the moment im smoking on a jantystick XL i made myself, which switches between 6 volt, 5.3v and 4.5 volt. And its all im using at the moment. However, i think we will make it 4.5 volt firm - or selectable between 4.5 and something else - but at this stage its guess work at best.

If it was up to me, id have them release the one im smoking on now - its fantastic ;)

You've lost me. I have never, ever gotten juice in my mouth from dripping.

Topping off a cart, yea, I've gotten juice-mouth lots of times, but how on earth could anyone get juice in their mouth via dripping unless they are dripping directly into their mouth??????

Sounds odd to me to be honest. If you drip and have a filter in there, that will block some of it - if not most - but the taste is also not as pure as when you have no filter material and then drip.

And by doing this its quite easy to get liquid in your mouth as im sure alot of other people can testify to. Also this problem becomes much more obvious if you smoke anything above 3.7 volt due to the liquid "jumping" around more.

Is this size of this device still up in the air, Mik? Can we presume that the form factor of the original is to be the JS trademark? IOW, a side by side unit -- battery/atty?

I'm heartbroken! My two week old stick has stopped working: I put in the battery, and it flashes 3 times to show that it's inserted correctly. I press the button, and it flashes 5 times (battery flat) and then when I plug in the USB, the red light comes on, but pressing the button it still flashes 5 times!

I thought that the passthrough function would still work? I leave it to "charge" but the red light switches off, even though it's plugged into the USB, sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after a minute or so...

help?

This is probably a stupid question but have you left it on charge for awhile and then tried it? The battery may have to build up a little to vape. I think I've read somewhere that a low battery well flash when inserted, but the circuits won't let you vape instill a high enough charge is built up.

I'm trying an experiment right now with my JS and it seems to be working wonderfully:

- Got a DSE801 atty and 801 carts (from dietsmokes, though they're out of stock atm)
- Using shredded PTB mod with the carts, cutting 24mg Johnson Creek juice down to 18mg with VG
- Taking care to rest the JS horizontally-flat, button-side-up when I'm not vaping to see if it minimizes leakage.

I am getting a noticeably better throat hit and more voluminous vapor compared to the Janty atty. The 801 atty screws into the JS but never comes to a complete stop no matter how many turns I make, hence my preference to rest it horizontally since the 801 att will leak noticeably if you hold it up vertically on its own.

Will Janty ever offer a 5.0v+ ecig in the future that will make good use of this filter? I'm in the market for a high voltage ecig, but if Janty were planning on releasing one than I would definitely rather save my money to buy it.

Edit:

I just saw this in the Janty Update thread,

Future: In 2010, we WILL launch our first high voltage product. Right now its going to run 4.5 volt (as the plan is) - but we might do selectable / multivolt. The problem why we have not done this yet is because we have to make sure our products are CE certified. Meaning basically that we cant just pop high voltage batteries in a product and "hope" it works - it has to be safe, and within some kind of regulation. But it IS coming. And hopefully early in 2010.

Yay! 4.5v sounds great and I would definitely buy it, but if you can add a multivoltage that can do 3.7/4.5/5 that would be a dream come true! I hope you keep us updated on this ecig, as I'm most looking forward to it. :)

Will this mean that you won't be offering Polar Mint liquid? I hope there's a good substitute, because that's my all time favorite eliquid. :)

I smoked menthols before I found ecigs, but I really don't like the menthol flavored eliquids.. they taste really weird to me.. Polar Mint was a really good minty flavor that wasn't too strong or too dull. I absolutely love it, so much so that even though I've found cheaper liquids elsewhere, I keep coming back to you guys to buy more of it.

Also, please keep a Red Bull type flavor available. I once thought it was the different types of batteries that gave good throat hits (I'm sure it's still a factor), but regardless of the battery I use, Red Bull liquid gives a good throat hit every time. :)

I really hope it does atleast 5v. I would definitely pick it up if it did.

Is there a way you could set it up so that it does 5v through USB and 3.7v/4.5v when it's running off just the battery?

Also, will you keep it in a plastic casing or will you maybe use aluminum or steel (crosses fingers)?

Experience tells me that attys vary a lot, even within the same brand. I don't know the details of construction/assembly for attys, so trying to home in on a method is impossible at the moment, but once you find a properly constructed atty, from pretty much any atty manufacturer out there, it'll do everything you expect it should do, i.e., wick well, provide a good throat hit, decent draw, resist leaking and last a long time. Trick is, finding it. I'm currently ordering 5 packs and can usually find 3 or 4 out of a pack that perform well with no additional fussing about (I don't have to use special filters and I refill with a dropper).
