This may be a dumb question but how long are you holding the button?
If it is a bad stick im sure "milky" will replace it

STOP CALLING ME MILKY UAAURUURGHH...*gargle*

And no, im just the designer, so.. i wont replace it =)

But im sure Ethan or Harry / Yves will, depending on where you bought it! :D

I prefer to get the ones with the warranty just as I make sure I get the extra warranty for pretty much anything I buy. Even if you never end up needing it in the 6 months, isn't it worth it knowing that if something does happen, Ethan will just ship out another one to you? I have quite a few atomizers from Janty and I think only one has actually died within that time. All the others are still running strong. Out of all the Janty products I've had, I've only had a small fraction of them actually die on me and they've ALL been taken care of very quickly by Ethan. It's one of the main reasons I've stuck with Janty. They have AWESOME customer service (Ethan, Jeff, Ludo, Mik, Harry and Yves are all great) and their products are much better than the others out there since they're not the generics that most people sell. I also love the fact that Janty is not afraid to get out there and try something new. I'm still waiting for my MP3 player/E-cig! :p

Anyway, I would gladly pay the little extra for the peace of mind.

</rant> ;)

Hey, I'd like to post an update. Janty did send me a replacement and it works fantastically! It's been a few months and I've purchased many different ecigs like the 510, 901, and the mini pipe, but I always find myself reaching for the Janty Stick. I'm still using the atomizer that the replacement came with and it's been almost 3 months! That's pretty damn good, IMO.

Heya,

I figured the Janty Stick has been out and about long enough now for a few to go "off warranty".

I know there are routes to get a replacement stick, but I'm still wondering if anyone has come up with or tried anything to fix/replace their own switch/button????

If so, please post (pics would rock!!!)

Thanks.

I bought a v1 on pre-order back in May. And, like many others I had switch issues. Part of the inherent problem with the JS is that PG tends to dissolve adhesive, thus the tape that holds the switch down peels back and then liquid finds its way into the contact points. Also, the switch loses alignment when the tape gives way which is another reason why it doesn't always fire the atty.

Picture one of those plastic "table" looking gizmos that they insert on top of your pizza before they close the cover to keep the pizza toppings from hitting the cardboard cover. That's what the switch looks like inside the JS, in miniature and, of course, in metal. That piece of metal picks up contacts on all four *legs*. When one presses down on the switch the center of that *table* makes contact with any/all of the 4 *legs*, closes the switch and routes voltage to the atty via the body of the device.

That said, when the switch doesn't work it is because the contacts are wet from e-liquid or the *table* has shifted a bit and is no longer lining up with the corresponding contacts on the JS body.

The fix is to carefully lift just as little of the tape as possible and clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol and clean the *table*. Then, carefully align the *table legs* with the body contacts while sticking the tape back down. A piece of scotch tape helps once it is down and back in place. It looks like hell but I wouldn't use anything else because it *is* going to foul up again.

I can't include pics because my JS was recently replaced (under warranty, ironically for a different issue) and I have no desire to peel back the adhesive to demonstrate. <g>

Btw, Ethan of Janty is very accommodating. I have no issue with Janty's customer relations.

Can't say that I agree either deewal. I have a KBC and two Sticks, and see no difference in atomizer life - about 1 month on average with no maintenance other than the occasional blow out.

The regular Janty atty, Janty TAWA and 801 from MyVaporStore are all giving me very similar vapor, taste and atty lifespan. 801's from TrueSmoker (high bridge) also worked well, but lasted more like 2 weeks.

Just my .02, but comparison of atty life is meaningless unless you are comparing apples and apples with regard to drip vs. carts, brand of liquid and flavor of liquid (very dark colored flavors seem to reduce atty life for me).

I am confused about the USB Pass Through .. Is that like the JantyStick ?? I thought that the pass through was NOT going to be on the eGo. I am happy if it is .. actually I ordered one already ..

I don't see a passthrough in the kit. All I see is a USB charger, and a wall charger. I think the poster you are quoting was confused.

Thanks!!!

I saw your original posts - that's what got me thinking about this thread. Your description here is even better than the first (as I remember it).

Don't blame you nor would I want you to demo on a perfectly good JS!!!!!!

Ethan ROCKS 4sure - he's already replaced mine 3 times for the switch issues. I seem to run my JS hot and I think the glue is softening and my 'table' legs move off the spot.

Since my first JS is almost at the end of its warranty I was going to be making some switch fix attempt soon.

Hoping to see if others had a "radical" approach.
