It's an adjustable center pin 510.
It's an adjustable center pin 510.
I did not know that!
Certainly with in your rights to do so. She hasn't steered me wrong on anything I've asked her opinion on yet though so I have no reason to think she would do so now. Again, it was a for what it's worth.I was trying to stay out of this and read along without taking further part
But this just beggars belief
I dont buy that for a second, so theyre now saying it was a planned feature? How do you explain that out of two from the same batch and same supplier, only one of them has a long 510 pin...they either screwed up one, or screwed up the other, or, and my pick, they have no quality control at all and therefore no control how the products end up.
Cant have it both ways, no you cant.
Its a defect (and it seems a random one), plain and simple. Be honest about it.
Further, if this was a "forward thinking feature" so that people didnt blow up a hybrid, they were apparently okay shipping every other one up until now (even forgetting the variance at the factory that produced mine and my mates with different length pins) to people to potentially blow themselves up if they put it on a hybrid?
You cant have that both ways either.
Me i hate being lied to, or to have people spin bs, ymmv.
I still have not recieved a reeponse to my email from them, and then on top of being ignored, theres this alleged explanation from Roxy. Looks like no one has integirty enough to simply say "we made a manufacturing error", let alone the complete lack of contact, let alone an offer to replace it.
AugVape just joined the list of vendors i definitely wont buy from ever again. I just assumed that list would only ever contain JoyeTech.
And that really is the end of my even looking in here ever again.
NC = hand grenade....at least in my book. There way too many newbies with them that know little to nothing about battery safety.
Seen this with me own eyes.
I don't trust adjustable 510 pins since having had a short on a mech caused by one. Also, IMO, I would advise against using tanks with direct battery contact (faux hybrid) in general, and specifically with the NC which requires a huge build capable of diffusing the heat generated by 8 volts and an airflow to match. Certainly the Merlin is terrific but is insufficiently robust and lacking in the airflow dept. to handle a series unregulated mod like the NC.![]()
I wouldnt say it is not capable of handling 8v at all...hitting mine at 8v now on my rx. Prolonged hits it gets a little dry. With my usual 3.5 sec pull it does perfectly fine though. I did decide on not going with an nc though and decided I'd try squonking to see if I'd like that.
The copper 510 pin doesn't hold anything together. The only mod it didn't fit flush on that I use just happened to be the one that I bought it for, a Dicodes 2380. It fit flush now.
If I owned a nc already yes I probably would. With the build I have in mine it would be less then a 10 amp draw. I'd feel safe enough to even use my 25r's over my vtc's with that. My comfort factor is different from everyone else's though so to me it comes down to how comfortable you are with the equipment you're working with and your knowledge of doing so.While i might be brave enough to try 8 volts on an RX, I not so sure I would screw it down on the NC TBH...would you risk it honestly?
Sorry but that email doesn't clarify if it is or is not a defect or as intended. All that shows is they want to see what it is you are calling a defect before rma is granted. But since you've already sent yours back they wont be able to have a video of it?fwiw, my post here has been updated.
I doubt if the warranty is handled by anyone except Fasttech, Augvape unlikely has nothing to do with it. Just an opinion though.Sorry but that email doesn't clarify if it is or is not a defect or as intended. All that shows is they want to see what it is you are calling a defect before rma is granted. The word defect is used, and that the manufacturer requires proof, its hardly in any way ambigious.Sorry but that email doesn't clarify if it is or is not a defect or as intended. I would think ft would be handled the same way as sts. Sts customers contact him, he replaces and is in turn replaced by augvape for the bad unit. Or in his case, augvape sends him the replacement and he then forwards it out from there.I doubt if the warranty is handled by anyone except Fasttech, Augvape unlikely has nothing to do with it. Just an opinion though.
Right, they want YOU to prove there is in fact a DEFECT. No where in that are they saying you are right or for that matter Roxy was correct in what I was told. You're trying to put words into that email that simply aren't there. The word defect is used, and that the manufacturer requires proof, its hardly in any way ambigious.
Look i get it that youre pro Merlin, as are a lot here, i wanted to be too, and was one before i got mine.
Its troubling to me that the only people with any integrity and responding to the issue are FastTech, and they were told by AugVape to get proof of the defect.
Im going to go with the only people willing to respond to an email on this one. Its hard to give equal space in a post to abject silence from the other parties i contacted. I think we can agree on that.
Anyways, really really over it
Best of luck to everyone else.
