It is definitely easier. I still use a kfl with my menthol tobacco and was doing like you were for a long time but I've been trying hard to rewick and coil once a week.
Well I just broke down an used Credit to get a new pico mod for the merlin. My lavatube is just about SHOT. I barely bump it wrong and the dang tank is reading 0.0ohm. Then I have to dig the center post up in the Lavatube to get it to halfway work for the next few hours.
I'm still waiting on my second Merlin from efun. I ordered on the 15th and it didn't ship until I emailed them on the 25th. It is on the way but still probably another week. I wonder if they ran out and had to wait on a shipment. They shipped the first one right away and I had it within 10 days.
I'll rewick on a regular basis, but dry burning my coil with each rewicking keeps it going for a long time. It also depends on what you vape, and how fast the juice gunks it up until even dry burning won't clear things.
I've been using a DIY lemonade in mine and by the time I start losing flavor and think of rewicking then it needs a new coil too. Last time I tried dry burning and I still wasn't getting the flavor I expect from this tank and had to put a new coil in to get it back to normal.
Replacing the coil is easy enough. I've had good luck with my tobacco flavors and dry burning them. That, or I'm really bad at figuring out when it tastes bad.
How hard is it to get all the supplies to make diy juice with nicotine? And price? I have thought about it a few times, but I think the last time I did the cost of making my own liquid was just about the same as buying plus the time and supplies required.

How well does the Merlin work with the pico on the threads. Can you screw the tank on all the way down to where it is tight with no issues? I have got to figure out something today on my Lavatube. I can't really use it much. It has gotten worse. I can't screw the tank anywhere near all the way down on the threads or it will show as 0.0 ohm. I have to have it so loose that I can rock the tank back and forth which is not good at all for the threads on either the tank or the device. Anyone know of anything I can do to get a temporary fix. I have tried to unscrew the positive pin on the Merlin and that makes it worse. On the kayfun the positive pin is screwed in more than on the Merlin it only sticks out by a hair and I can screw it all the way down. Is there any way to make the positive 510 pin on the Merlin screw in more?
Easy enough now, could be much harder (maybe impossible) and more expensive to get the nic after Aug 8th. You can get nic as cheap as $50 a liter currerntly. I went the more expensive route of extended shelf life nic, in smaller bottles, ready to freeze since I am a noob and didn't want to deal with breaking it all down, etc so it cost me a lot more per liter. I have about 2 liters which is enough to vape 15ml per day for the next 15 years and so far the recipes I have built in the calculator come at 1 - 3 dollars per 100ml for nic, flavoring and pg/vg. I was paying 30 - 50 dollars per 100ml for pre-made juice. Kicking myself for not getting into DIY sooner.
Have you tried a mod guard washer? KidneyPuncher sells them but I just went to home depot and got some silicone washers (was trying to find mylar) that I trimmed down for use under my griffin on my istick 50w and 200wTC mods.
Could you send me a PM on the sites where you buy the nic from. Considering you already make your own I figured it would be easier to just get your advice on making my own rather than start a new thread where I will get mixed input.
last thing I need is another atty/rta floating around with juice in it but that pic of it on the pico made me go downstairs and grab one of my 2 merlins I bought so I can build it later today.
I thought I read that they would ban the sell of new products on August 8th. Does that mean that we can still get nicotine until 2018 or was there something I missed that will ban it this August?
