I saw on efun that there is the 4ml merlin and then they show a 3.5ml merlin that has a different looking bell in it.
That bell-domed 3.5mL is the new model, and the smaller capacity doesn't really attract me. The original Merlin was specified for 4mL, but my syringe told me that 5mL fits exactly right. After 9 months of daily use, I've yet to run into a "seep" or a "weep" with either of mine. I must have a little guardian tank angel floating around me, because unexplained leakage just isn't something I ever run into with any of my RTAs. A little condensation, very little, at worst. Merlin is one of my favorites, and is the best single-coil flavor producer I've had. At that FT pricing I may have to grab a couple more.

I do realize that leaking has a lot to do with wicking but some, no matter how well you wick it (and it is a fine art) do it more than others. I will keep looking and maybe get one and give it a go. Not sure now.
The OBS Engine Nano Will never leak. Won't matter what you put in it, it won't leak. Look into Engine tanks to see if you like them. I find that the Engine Nano is the best tank I have used so far.

That is apparently the Merlin 22. Kina reminds me of a top fill SXK Nebula Wine.

Please give a ref for me to that guardian angel and see if she will come my way. Something I have always wanted. Does she locate, clean and maintain your gear too? I would be so happy. ;)

I did check them out after reading some posts about the Merlin but some seem to think the flavor is diminished. That is important to me too. Flavor might be more important than leaking. Who knows. One day one thing is more important than the other. I want the ultimate tank. Rebuildable, great flavor and no leaking. Oh yeah and that fairy tank mother. I am not asking a lot and I will be thankful ;)

If she ever actually manifests I'll mention your plea! At this point she's only my hypothetical construct, as I sit and scratch my head reading about people's Merlin problems....
Now I hope I didn't chase her off by speaking of her.

Tank angel strikes again! I get fabulous flavor from both the OBS Engine and Engine Nano. Though I do think the Merlin is a skosh better in that department.

Now you've done it. I hope she doesn't make your merlin seep now. Just out of curiosity, where did you buy yours? I doubt that has anything to do with it but different vendors might have gotten different lots.

You also vape differently then many in this thread, for me Neither the Engine, or the Engine Nano come close to either of the Merlins. Actually the Engines are fairly far down my list for flavor, I can think of 10 atties off the top of my mind which beat them. For me the only thing they really have going for them is dead easy to build/wick and nearly leak proof.

Press fit positive post is a huge negative on them, for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend. As more of them make it into the wild, I'm seeing more & more having issues with the post popping out and/or loosening up. Very sad that OBS did not learn from the Crius Debacle.

Edit: I'll also add that if I recall correctly you only vape a very small variety of juice, was it one or two tobaccos last I saw you mention? Its entirely possible it does very well with some flavors, not so well with others. Certainly wouldn't be the first time I've seen it.

It's all a matter of Taste... Some people can taste things more than others with different tanks, wire and wicks. No one is the same. I only vape a few different Tobacco flavors. I can't stand vaping fruits and cakes etc.

I always felt low wattage vaping on smaller attys when I was squonking, was more flavorful then higher wattage larger subohm tanks. There were those that said higher wattages gave them more flavor, but personally I never tasted it that way.
me too. Wondered why the big rush to SUBOHM was happening at one point. All I ever got was massive air and almost no flavor. I was vaping with a Taifun (original) for two years at 11-12 watts and felt the flavor was great. Then I got some better subohm gear. The Aromamizer makes things POP with flavor

My Merlins came from Subtank Supply, very close to their launch time. I was thinking the same thing about different lots to different outlets, which is why I couldn't outright promise @chanelvaps that the Merlins at FT were authentic (I buy there a lot, but at the time I was hot for the Merlin and FT didn't have it yet).

It seems to me that sometimes the US market gets preference over the Chinese outlets when the manufacturers are shipping stock. I've seen that happen in terms of supply priority, so maybe it could happen in terms of quality as well. Then again, all my eHPro Bachelors/Bachelor 2s, my Bellus tanks, and my Engine/Engine Nanos all came from FT; no problems with authenticity or quality for any of those.

I have one from Eciggity and the other from STS. One was a v1.5 the other v2 (that whole round vs. rectangular juice flow hole, v1.5 rectangular on the inner, round on the outer). Both haven't leaked on me yet. I haven't been using them all that much since I've gone to my Engines as daily drivers.

Here's the thing with efun and the Merlin/ Augvape products. They aren't a vendor that Augvape ever sold to. They supposedly sold 3000 units even before 3000 units were ever manufactured.

I have chatted with our lady friend about this a few times.

If I had known that then I wouldn't have bought from them.
