Thanks for the advice on the polishing cloths and compounds. I'll have to slide by Ace Hardware and see what they have to offer. My GGTS is on the way and I want to greet it with a polishing cloth. For cleaning, what do you all think about white cotton photographers gloves? You can get them on line or in high end camera shops.

Hey Bill, So far since ive had the GGTS and Slim ive used nothing but neverdull. I have got some of the darkest oily stains off my GG's with just a tad of elbow grease. I use my hand with no gloves when cleaning and just give a good wash in between and after and your all good. I do believe after hearing such good things about cape cod polish clothes that i think it is a good way to go as well. _EDITED_ Well my wife is heading off to ace hardware for me tonight and looks like i will be able to try out the cape cod clothes sooner then i expected!!!

Bristow, Ok.
The cape cod cloths are similar to neverdull. The thing that sets them apart is the white polishing cloth that comes in the tin not the pink pads... I'm trying to find more of that cloth now. It gives the GG a great shine with a little elbow grease.

I use the Cape Cod cloths and the polishing cloths that are treated to shine sterling silver. I love them both. The cape Cod cloths really shine that button up really nice and my threads and the rest of my GG. I clean it really well about once a week but I use the silver cloths for a little daily wipe when necessary. The sterling silver cloths can be found at a jewelry store or Wal Mart. :)

I did think about getting the silver polishing cloths in too, but seeing as you can get them fairly easily, I thought it best to get the Cape cod cloths for my customers instead.
Stormy - you may have to stop recommending stuff cos I seem to keep having to stock what you recommend.

You made a very wise decision Lisa to sell the polish... My wife picked up a jar of the cape cod polish and i am really liking the outcome! I have to say i am impressed and its worth the money. I do feel that never dull is good to have on the side as well vice versa and works very similar. They both are winners in my book but looks like cape cod polish is going to be used more often here! ;)

In the land of no hills and red dirt
This is what I am doing for polishing :
I am using a polishing cream for metals and after that I wash my GG with dish cleaner and water to take off the black dirt ...The GG shines but the shining lasts only for 2-3 days :-(

My last mod, I had to pull maintenance on every 2-3 days to keep it working. This one, I have the option of doing it just to keep it pretty. Else it develops a 'patina'. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd choose it over the former problem.

BTW, I wonder if I quit shining mine long enough, could I somehow sneak it onto an 'antiques roadshow' type of program and watch experts puzzle over it?

get two GGTS, that way each one shines longer ;-)

Ooh! Can I be a part of the two ggts club? Enclosed please find the photo for my membership application:

BTW, took #61 to a local jeweler, watch repair shop who polished the ridges out of it, and left the emblems and serial no. Big difference after only three minutes on his machine! Cleans much easier, even a paper napkin will slick 'er up now.

Also really like the button on the 2nd batch, too.
