Metalic Taste?

I really just started all of this recently, so I'm NO way an exert user, but I see what you wrote from others all the time about the overnight or several hour drying. How important is it in terms of losing an atty? I dry mine by blowing them out, doing a quick thread rub (why does that sound dirty?) and then a little tap, then right to the battery for a dry burn. Is this wrong and am I taking a chance on ruining my atty in your experience?

I don't actually know the answer to that! (not being a GREAT expert myself) But I will say I haven't lost one atty in the 53 days I've been vaping. I don't think you're ruining anything. I just know that I switch attys around once a week...I wash the one I used last week and let it dry... Don't know if its RIGHT or not but it seems to be working well for me I've heard ppl who do it your way too tho.

I started using one cartomizer for only flavor and it led me to try one cartridge with one atty per flavor. Makes sense, except when you find over a hundred e-juices you like. Now I'm screwed. Heh. Seriously though, it's funny how there is no real baseline to these products yet. One can come dead on arrival and another from the same batch can take a drop out of a c130 and still keep on going. I think we'll see quite a bit of change in the future. I'm addicted to this now more for the playing than the smoking.

Oh don't talk about that. I got a T-rex because I like the l.e.d. on the collar instead of the button and I then went ahead and got two more regular eGO's. I'm a shmuck. I'm getting another T-rex. How many damn mouths do I have to smoke with anyway? Well, we'll soon find out. You're going to LOVE the eGO. It's everything you're read about.

LOL! I wasn't brave enough to rinse or boil my attty. So I just swabbed it with a hot wet Q-tip. Well I guess I Could try a drip tip. I think there $3 at totally wicked. There is a very fun hobby to this. Can you imagine a website this active based on analogs? hehe.

Yea, hobby. No doubt. My 350z is sitting in the garage wondering what the hell happened to me and all the goodies I used to buy her. I'm ashamed to break the news to her that I'm spending it on vaping gear because it's fun. Nothing to do with quitting cigs, money saved, health, nope....just fun. What started as "what the heck I'll try it" has turned into spending more time on the forum than I do on the car. If you knew me, you'd drop your jaw right about now.

Just got my viking vapor Mar-boh. Just now did the dripping technique and filled a blank catridge as well. The metallic taste is GONE. The Mar-boh has a nutty or woody flavor. Glad I like it because I bought 7 30ml bottles. Way better to drip. Next ill try the candy flavors. But the taste is a 100x better than the cartridges that came with the pv. So I am now set for the month.

Glad you found a way you like without an icky taste. If you get that taste again...you need more liquid!!! My friend told me a wet atty is a good atty.

alright. I'm keeping it wet. Now I'm not so sure about the flavor. It's seems like I'm vaping perfume or something. It's a really weird taste liquid but it better than the prefilled carts.

I have read of lots of people boiling atomizers or just letting them sit in hot water, then drying them out. A lot of other people say this is completely unnecessary and to just do a quick dry burn. There are threads about that debate specifically on here.

I would think it would burn it out. I thought there was circuitry in there but i guess not.

Nope. Unless you sit there and just let it burn. I do it in stages. Once I get a fairly uniform orange glow I stop. The knockoffs may stress too much, and hell, a random one might too, but I've not lost one atty doing this.
