Trying mixing for the first time in an attempt to save/make a consistent product. I am used to Marlboro analogs and have had luck with different LF tobacco juices.

I have mixed 80% pg and 20% vg, 36mg nicotine. Added 3% Flavourarts Maxx Blend (30drops for 30ml?).

I am vaping out of a clearomizer ego and it tastes like chemical cotton candy... nowhere near tobacco. The 24mg Original Red pre-mixed from LF tasted great. Clearly I have messed up, but any idea where?

I'm out of pre-mixed juice and don't want to relapse back to analogs, please help!

Thanks in advance.

I don't mix tobaccos but:
From my reading tobaccos tend to need more steeping, some can take upwards of a month to really shine. If the clearo is new it may need a bit of "break in" time too (usually one tank is enough). You also may be missing a little "something" (hoosier calls them butterfly farts). I don't think many premixes are a single flavour.

3 more posts and you'll be able to ask these questions in the DIY section, folks who hang around there could probably help out a lot more.

If you're in a real bind, you could mix a batch of flavourless to tide you over.

Good idea- flavorless really isn't bad at all. Head to DIY.

Yes tobaccos usually need steeping. Here's a quick steeping method:
Place bottle of juice in hot tap water for 45 mins. Shake and place in dark cupboard.
Next a.m. shake, remove cap and allow air in. Recap bottle and place back in cupboard.
Next a.m. shake, remove cap (leave cap off) and place back in cupboard.
Next a.m. shake and vape.

Many thanks recidivus, the steeping part makes sense. I've read that the LF base does have a sweeter taste to it (cotton candy). I just thought the steeping portion was more of an "fine aged wine" so to speak... guess it's critical.

Thanks, I'll put these away for a month or so and see what happens.

Great, thanks for that. Going to give it a whirl and see how it goes. Thought I read enough but might have to read more... thanks again.

The biggest thing about DIY is experimentation. Flavour will look great on paper, you mix it up, and it ends up being horrid (I made one and an addition of 1% vanilla just ruined it). It takes time and patience, but the end result of a fantastic juice customized to your taste is priceless.

The steep is not always necessary, sometimes it'll be great right out the door, sometimes not. The individual flavours are also a preference, that one you're using may simply not be right for you, or may need a couple drops of caramel, or coffee, etc etc, to round out the flavour. It's highly recommended to make small batches (5ml) while doing new mixes to get the ratios/%'s right so you don't end up ruining 30ml+ of base. This is where having unflavoured or at least a bottle of something that does work for you comes into play, nobody wants to be sitting on a batch steeping with nothing on hand to use. Oh, and take notes, many many notes, every adjustment has to be recorded. You may add something that makes a perfect flavour, but forgot to note what it was!

DIY section is your friend, I'm only ~1 month into diy but there's folks who've been doing it for years.

Hmm, may not be worth my time to mix. Juices are cheap enough. Thanks again for your help.

That's been my experience. It's not as simple as mixing some nic, pg/vg and flavoring. At least not for me. I guess that's why the e-liquid suppliers are in business. I've been able to DIY a few tolerable liquids and still buy my favorites. I don't vape tobacco, but I imagine they're probably the most complex. Read through the recipes.
