Just wondering if anyone has done this.

Today while trying to dial in TC with TI wire in the Crown rba I figured I try something new.
I took some KGD and pulled the outer layers off like normal, enough to slide through the coil easily. Then I took some rayon and spread it flat and thin and wrapped the cotton with that, enough to be just snug in the coil.

The idea is that the rayon on the outside will draw liquid in faster to the cotton and the cotton will stay fluffed up.
In my experience rayon wicks better and has cleaner taste, but it's gotta be packed tighter because it collapses with heat and liquid. Cotton on the other hand fluffs up with liquid and IMO brings out sweeter notes.

For example the same build wicked with cotton vaping Bobas I get more honey and graham notes, with rayon I get more tobacco and tea. With this mixed wick I'm getting all of them.

Also, it is wicking faster. With just the cotton it would take a few seconds to see the bubbles and with rayon it was wicking too fast especially on hard pulls. Could be just be dumb luck for the first try, but the flavor and mix of different notes coming out is definitely there.
