Yep. You can also use a GP fork...bet you've got one!

Took mine apart yesterday. Pretty simple, in addition to hex key you need a needle nose or similar for the spanner holes in the 510 housing.

Awesome, thanks!

Yeah, I have ...umm... more than several GP forks :)

I have a very similar pair of Xurons, great quality, had them for years...I am rough on the micro shears, though. Several nicks from trying to cut stuff that's really too hard. Harbor freight has a $3 pair of close cutters that are pretty darned good, and I don't feel so bad if I abuse them!

I also got the heavier duty Xurons for the heavier stuff and use the fine close cutters for just wick and small kanthal. But yeah, great stuff.

We're back! Very soon we'll start the next run.
Now it's planned on the very end of April.

Since the last run, we found a new building, bought new CNC machines and now we're almost ready to start.
We hope to solve all problems with anodizing, Hamoriko's finish, etc.
Also now we won't depend so much on sub-contractors, so it will be easier to keep the quality :)

In the coming run we'll have MicroSticks, Extenders, Hamorikos SS and MiniGens SS.
Titanium versions will come a bit later.

Chels has a new project: MiniAtty. It's a new bottom feed 16 mm SS atomizer. It will be possible to use it with a silica wick or a mesh. A mesh is installed vertically as an arch.
We're about to produce the first prototype and then we'll announce the price and publish the photos.

MiniAtty will be available for pre-order from the beginning of the next run even if we won't be ready with the finalized prototype.
The prototype and photos will be ready before we'll start the shipping of the next run. Hopefully, the first review will be also ready by that time.
So it will be possible to place an order for the MiniAtty and later keep it or request a refund depending on prototype testing results.
For now let's wish Chels good luck and wait for the photos!

As usually, those who have subscribed for stock updates will get a personal e-mail with notification about start of pre-orders.

I have put the 18490 extension on my MS for better battery life while golfing... :)
Problem is I have to leave the button screw untightened to make contact with my battery ...
Is there a longer screw to use with the extension ? Rather not use a battery magnet but what are the options there also
Thanks for the input !

Cheers

What will be the situation with spare parts? I certainly need a replacement base and new screws for MicroStick. Wrong tools have made a bit of a mess on mine. I hope I'd be able to get spares at the same time as a new setup...

We'll have spare parts in the store.

These are standard screws M4, 8mm. You can buy in your local store a longer screw if you want.
Also you can use another (lnger) battery.
On the other hand, untightened screw is also ok :)

Any way you would have link to get the screws that will fit and take this issue and donkey kick it away ?

Thanks

Anyone know whether I need to turn the 510 housing clockwise, or counter-clockwise for removal? It's pretty tight in both directions and I wanted to ask before I just guessed and used force.

Edit: searched for "reverse" in this thread and found my answer.

Hmm.... previous posts indicated that the housing was reverse-threaded. However, it didn't work for me. Apparently mine has standard threads (righty, tighty ... lefty, loosey). After one scary counter-clockwise CRACK it came right out.

Taking the MicroStick 510 out from the bottom was standard threading for mine too. Lefty loosy, righty tighty (counter clockwise to loosen). Now the Spheroid base bottom plate is reverse threaded and I have see it discussed here.

Hmm , I've asked in the past if it was reverse threaded and people have indeed said yes. This would explain why it wouldn't budge. I'll try again , I had a juice spill in there from filling a spheroid while I was drunk …

Maybe some people just don't know what reverse threaded means?
Mine is most assuredly not reverse threaded :)
