Dangerous new trend in electronic cigarettes | Fox News Video

THE NEWEST THREAT!! synthetic drugs (the real problem, pre existing..) are being put into e-cigs by our teens!! (the un-monitord young adults allowed to do as they please)

Do we blame the drug maker? NO!
Do we blame the parents!? NO!
Do we blame the teens!? OMG NO!!

Blame the E cig! Yay! our latest un-taxable scapegoat that has become a symbol of freedom in choice toward healthier life style! *sighs...*

Is it still illegal to smack dumb people..?

the swabbing is to pick up nitrogen ions and other trace elements to test against common explosives (like C4 and RDX). the TSA doesn't have a swab to test for illegal drugs in regular airport security areas.

Vocalek is right, they see a electric battery device and their first thought is that it ccould be used to power a detonator, they dont care about drugs unless they see it first hand or if its stuffed into an orifice in your body.

I wasn't at TSA controlled airports. They knew what my e-cigs were- swabbed the tops where the tanks screw on and asked to see my tanks and liquid- which were also swabbed.

I would blame the news. How many curious people are going to try that now, who didn't even know about it before now? They are irresponsibly promoting drugs to our kids.
Meanwhile, back on the home front, parents are scurrying like mad to warn kids about synthetic drugs. Even the kids are warning kids.
ECigs have zero bearing on drugs. Articles like this will steer parents away from the main problem, that being the drug itself. Kind of makes me wonder who is hiring who to make these drugs.

Here's from the transcript:
"ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES HAVE BECOME $1 BILLION INDUSTRY THAT WAS PROMOTED AS A SAFE ALTERNATIVE TO TOBACCO CIGARETTES, BUT NOW MANY TEENS ARE FINDING THIS SYNTHETIC CIGARETTE CAN BE USED TO GET HIGH."

LoL, a far cry from how it first sounded.
Once again,
1. eCig atties are not hot enough for oils.
2. Specialty vaporizers are used for Meds.
3. Specialty vaporizers are diluted. If your kid is getting high off a diluted puff, then I would do the happy dance because this means they are not, I repeat, NOT, hard core users.
4. Kids experiment. Get over it. Our job, as adults, is to educate and to try to manage safely wherever we can. Or lock them in the dungeon until they're 35.

I wonder how much this dr, gross's bank account rose lately.

Ps. It's a safer way for patients to inhale their Meds. I would never oppose that in a million years.

Not sure it has hit the US yet, but I was looking at a Czech forum where 'chemists' have successfully created a liquid from an ingredient(the ingredient has the same name as a breakfast food) that will vape in e-nic gear.

E-Cigs are not the issue, just a new delivery method to utilize, thus a scapegoat in the ongoing ANTZ crusade.

Bottom line is if the person wants to do whatever drug, they are going to. Back in my day I have seen many of a creative way employeed. Tin foil, apple, soda can, rolling paper, 2 knives glowing hot by a stove, soda bottle with a marker lined in foil hot gluded into the bottle, buckets turned upside down inside another bucket of water, hollowed out corn cob...

We going to ban/regulate apples and corn cobs next? I mean, think about the children ;)

Why does that nullify the hundreds of thousands if not millions of good honest wholesome quit smoking vapers out there or med patients either one? There's always a weirdo in every crowd. My job, as a responsible adult, is to know there is a difference between weirdo and wholesome.

Ill research it, it, but I hardly believe a weekend party favor is going to be the big 24/7 vape otherwise affectionately known as ecig vaping, no matter the favor Send me a link via pm.

I didn't say it does, but nefarious uses for vape gear is what the opposition will focus on. If you can vape (rhymes with cash) e-liquid in it, all vape gear thus becomes suspect.

I'll PM you a link concerning what I am talking about.

Absolutely. They did a similar thing with the dissolvable orbs, strips, and sticks. They were issuing press releases talking about "candy tobacco."

I was giving a presentation at the FDA and mentioned this. One of the FDA folks looked stunned and said "The sellers are calling it candy tobacco"? He was even more stunned when I told him that it was the anti-tobacco people calling it that.

So great, if the kids mistake it for candy, they will have only themselves to blame. Believe me, Reynolds was not asking stores to display their products anywhere other than among their brands of cigarettes.

It was Nicorette that I saw displayed out in the open, on the bottom shelf even, with colorful boxes to attract the attention of the chiiiiiiiilldren.
