Mothball breath?

My friend Lick your hand and smell. this will tell you what your breath smells. By the way test your blood sugar. As I knew it smells as mothball and stale apple if it is very low.

Add some Campho-Phenique??? My mom says you should always have it on hand along with hydrogen peroxide, alcohol (I'm not sure if she meant the rubbing kind or drinking, I guess both could involve rubbing, depending on the situation), bailing wire, and duct tape. I'm starting to wonder about Mom...eek bad visual there.

I have a very distinct "mothball" smell in my mouth. It's not even like when I'm right in her face about to maul her. She says she can smell it when we are in the car together.

This could be a sign of h.pylori.......you should probably check w/your gastroenterologist for some tests. This sounds very digestion-related to me.

Also, get a urinalysis done if you have not had one in a while.

(There are some very distinct illnesses that cause mothball breath, and you would be better served to consult with a doctor, rather than an internet forum, to find this out. I know i would.)



I dunno why people always thinking mouth when they have breath smells. Stomach / gut is often the culprit. Good luck!

But please, do take my advice. When your body starts to develop distinct smells, it is often a sign of something internal....breath, skin, pores, etc. are all just outlets for the internal body.

Googling moth ball breath turns up some interesting results. Apparently a sinus infection can cause it too.

That having been said.....I would second the recommendations of racehorse and vapolith. Go see a doc and make sure your insides are alright.

I am thinking you are most likely fine, given the fact that the "symptom" only appears with certain juices.

I recognize the urge to ask someone besides your wife ....I myself have on occasion had the desire to stand in front of the grocery store, clipboard in hand, ready to query the populous on some crazy opinion of some member of my family. But alas and a lac, I am fairly certain it would only increase the mirthful mocking of our "loved ones".
