I wonder if some of you ever sleep.

I'm bipolar and have really severe sleep apnea. The medications allow me to sleep but if my mask comes off I'm tired all day long and look like a zombie. And if I can even make it past that I might even not even keep me asleep, I wake up a lot because of the apnea. I had to get my work shift switched because I was coming in late every day from not being able to get up early.

the 2 are separate issues, aren't they?

i got turned down by a doctor for my DOT card, so i can't drive commercially anymore. she said that i needed to be cleared by a cardiologist, which made sense, but that i'd also have to get a c-pap mask. that made no sense to me whatsoever.

i'm still confused about it. they only way i know to get a long night sleep is weed. and i don't smoke (won't smoke...i hope, i hope) anymore. the Dr also said that the apnea was dangerous because of my heart condition.

do those masks really work?

i know i felt better when i worked 2nd shift, which i did for many years. 1st shift was kind of tough.

but if i worked 2nd shift, i'd want to smoke some herb...

i am bipolar but don't have sleep apnea, so i don't think the two are necessarily related. i sleep with the help of a valium/seroquel/trazadone cocktail. usually get 4-6 hours between nightmares.

Everyone should watch it.

I used to help the Special Needs teacher with her minions when I was a kid.
Her classroom was across the hall from the PROBLEM CHILD classroom.
It was sad and infuriating that kids picked on them but warriors help not hurt.

Hers were the real cool kids :)

mmmmmmmm butterscotch :p

Have you tried running that "stuff" thru a good blender and adding it to food or drink???? I have heard it works wonders on all sorts of ailments. Doctors say if it were discovered today, Instead of being shunned on, it would be the wonder drug of the century.

i loathe trazadone! my boss made me go to the Dr in '95. Dr gave me trazadone alone. it didn't work. everytime i complained, he'd say double the dose. that happened a lot. i would go sleepless, then sometime during the morning i'd feel like i was just going to collapse. despite having quit drugs in 1987, i just started weed at night again.

same thing happened in '98. same Dr. told him no way to trazadone, he put mt on amyltriptaline. same thing happened. finally stopped the weed again in 2003. i'd like to be drug and alcohol free as much as possible. i'f i had some good pills...they wouldn't last!
i'd need a caregiver doling them out!

my sleep habits will be off for another 10 days or so anyway. if i don't get much sleep, it'll just be nap time!

(though i probably should have stopped driving commercially long before i did.)
