if i was closer, i could give you piggy back rides where you need to go. oh wait, i am only 5 foot tall and weigh 99 lb. i would try tho! hope you are mobile soon dear.

ok.. still reading from around 9 last night but Kelli.. Sean and whomever else is height challenged.. when y'all buy pants that are too long and have to cut them off.. send the bottoms to me! I'll sew them on mine. I'm 6'2" and have been since I was 12 years old - not gonna talk about weight but getting pants long enough has never been easy.

and now to finish the 6 pages or so of catchup reading from overnight.. Evelyn Wood would be proud

I just don't know whats wrong with kids these days. I have always tried to teach my daughter the value of a dollar. She has grown up with me always paying the bills first before buying anything else. She got her a job and I make her pay me 35 a week. That covers her insurance for driving my car and her Iphone.

Now she claims she has no money to pay me cause she had to buy presents for all her friends. I told her that bills come first and she just rolled her eyes. So now Mama has to foot the money but I told her until shes caught up that she can only use the car to go to work til she gets caught back up. UGH!

Hang in there, cocacola... I'm the only person I know who never did that when I was a kid (I was the suckup everyone loved to hate... straight As, teacher's pet, never cut school, never out past curfew, never missed a bill or left money owed, etc etc. My sister has *still* never forgiven me for this, and is relatively regularly heard yelling, "Can't you *please* get in trouble just ONCE?!"). Everyone else I know has done it, my sister included... but it usually only takes once or twice of losing privileges for them to get the idea. Or, as I told my sister the other day when she asked if we could go Christmas shopping now... "Sure. We'll go Christmas shopping before I pay the electric bill, but then we'll have to have Christmas by candlelight because the electric company will cut the power. Want to try it? Could be fun..." She opted for lights. ;)

ok.. caught up.. I feel so at home with yall in this thread :) It's like all the *live and let live* folks just seem to congregate together here. Good morning allayas!

loving my caramel coffee this morning.. felt the need for a sweeter than cafe coffee vape with my coffee and long read.

I'd get a CCW except it's darn hard to conceal a 12ga - I kinda prefer the long guns unless there's a really cute pearl handle revolver (.38) someone wants to endow me with. (how does one not end that sentence with a preposition?)

Well., I am now about half way down in my 236ml bottle of Whipped Cream juice, and I mostly vape it by itself even though it's an excellent mixer.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to get people in their 80's for Xmas? My folks are both mid 80s and I think what they'd want most is a visit, but we are holding off til mid January when dad gets his hip replaced so we can be more helpful - none of us travels well anymore.
I know my mom loves flowers but is getting tired of the house resembling a funeral parlor for xmas and birthdays.
My dad has not figured out the amazon wish list thing and mom just doesn't use the computer except for an occasional email.. might end up being a healthy snack assortment.. organic.. I just am stumped.

If your mom has somewhere to plant things and someone willing to help her do so, a live arrangement might go over well. My mom got her green thumb from her own mother, and we sent live arrangements for every holiday - always hardy perennials, so they'd come back every year. Didn't get up to see her as often as we liked, but whenever we did she would escort us around the back yard, "there's the one you sent for my birthday, and there's the one you sent for Christmas, and there's the one from mothers day, and oh... we have to go look at that one from mother's day five years ago, you won't *believe* what it looks like now!" Live arrangements will keep fine from now till spring as long as your mom is able to look after them. :) A windowsill herb garden would be another option along those lines if either of them cooks.

Failing that, do either of them collect anything or have particular interests? My grandfather has a thing for cars (so I guess I come by that honestly!), so every year we splash out on a nice scale model of one of the big fancy supercars he never got to drive. He's very proud of his collection, mostly because he likes saying, "Wanna see my McLaren?" My grandmother was an excellent cook and loved to work with fabric, so we usually got her some upscale cooking tools or a ton of pricier yarn/fabric than she'd normally be able to afford.

If either of them are big readers but you don't know what they're reading these days, a gift card for a bookstore would probably be appreciated, along with a good reading light and/or a book holder.

At least yours has a job!! My youngest turns 18 TODAY and no job .........yet! She had her first fender bender yesterday too, but no injury to her or other kid, but the car, well, it now has a hole where a hole does not belong!

Mornin' MBV folks.
I have been around guns & gun people all my life. If someone is doing something stupid with a gun they will hear form me real fast, & in no uncertain terms. If they don't take immeditate steps to correct the problem, either they or I will leave. I will not tolerate gun stupid for 1 second. I only have 1 life & I don't want to give it up to an idiot.
Uncle Ralphie, those vivis are absolutely worth it & SI is having another sale.

Opal, just thought of something else I did for my great-aunt a few Christmases ago - she also doesn't travel well (nor do the three of us) and would have preferred a visit. In lieu of that, I went to a craft store and found a nice wooden box. Stained it, lined it with felt, and did some woodburning work (nothing too fancy). Then I filled it with photos of all of us, made some little wooden dividers, and left her enough room to add her own photos. She *loved* it.

If you don't have the patience/skills for the woodwork involved, I'm sure you could spend a little more and find a wooden photo box ready-made to use.

vaping some 3 month old butter pecan tonite. it is much better than when i first tried it. scrumdiddlyicious :)

That has become my mother's adv. she wouldn't even let it steep ! she went thru a 30ml in about a week, so I ordered her a 50ml as part of her xmas gifts, but i'm pretty sure I'll have to hand it over before xmas, or she'll end up ordering more, herself.

Mine just asked if it was possible to set up an auto-order for Sticky Bun... I spent 15 minutes trying to explain that MBV isn't like Amazon. ("Don't laugh at me. Wait till your kids are trying to explain how the computer chips in their brains work!" Yes, Mom.) So I am now the designated auto-orderer of Sticky Bun... I'd grab a 236ml bottle, but like me, she prefers to titrate her nic down over the course of the day, so it'll likely be 3 50 mls again this month. I'm just thrilled every time she reaches for her vape gear instead of a smoke.

I should find some pictures of my big doofus and post them... think I've got some of him trying to "catch" the rainbow on the floor (prism from the window). The service dog agency I use raises all their dogs with cats so that cats won't be a distraction when they're working... downside is, they decide they're giant cats. Wash their faces like cats, try to kick their toys with their back feet, chase strings, the lot. Nothing like watching a 120lb dog try to thump his toys with his back feet, then roll over again and wash his face, embarrassed. :D

I have a cat that used to sleep on my Akita. And another one that is still trying to fulfill his life goal of becoming an Akita.

Part of the deal was if she wanted to drive she had to pay for her own ins...of course you know that she is the only teenager ever that didn't get a car just given to her! I just can't afford it right now but with me being laid off she is in my car a lot more then I am.

I tell her that my first car was 2 years older then me and cost 200 dollars but she don't want to hear that. I looked at her last paycheck stub and it said that she had made after taxes 4500 dollars so far. Her bills are 140 a month and she is flat broke. I told her that I could work on matching some money for a car but so far no good. She gonna feel the hurt soon though cause Im fixing to start school and will need my car back.
