mornin' everyone :)

they gave me projects at work that they want done yesterday so been a bit busy.

don't get me started on the gun debate. i have definite opinions but most people don't agree. so i will shush. View attachment 284557

hope everybody is having a good day, and a special shout out to mike. View attachment 284558

dunno what those opinions are.. but if you had coyotes decimating a flock of chickens you raised from the egg.. a 12ga might become your friend too. (racoons and possum too)

thanks for the gift suggestions for the parental units allayas.. my kid (who lives near them) said fixing meals and snacks is getting more difficult for them so I went with a nifty box of healthy stuff from nuts dot com - today is my shopping on line day :) tomorrow I'll be broke for the month - cept for the grocery money.. not touching that.

Being 6'7" has its advantages...

I always get asked if I play basketball
People always ask me to get stuff of the tops of shelves at the store
I hit my head on every ceiling fixture ever created. My friend thinks he's cute, and actually keeps track at his house. Triple digits, people. Triple digits.
I don't fit anywhere comfortably.

..wait - I think I got something wrong...

Lol. I'm so glad I don't get asked that basketball question anymore.

Sent from my Astromech in a galaxy far, far away. The force is with me. so is Mr. chicken.

Where I used to work I used to get the tall guys to get stuff off the top shelves...my manager said I couldn't do this cause it was like I was discriminating....I told her no I wasn't cause I would use the shortest girl to get stuff that was real low! LOL

Heck, that's how G and I operate. When we go grocery shopping - as we do often, since he lives at my house on a regular basis - we don't divide the grocery list by category... it's by high shelves vs low shelves, no kidding. Easier on his back and my nerves (I can stand on my footrest to reach higher shelves if I have to, but it's a little precarious these days). Totally screws up our system when our regular grocery stores decide to reset, though.

coyotes deserve to eat, too! :p

it's nice that we have all had different experiences. if we were all the same, life would be pretty boring.

it's also great that everyone has opinions and that it is OK to have one that others don't. everyone's opinion is valid for their life circumstances.

i have no problem with you defending your chicks against marauders. my beef is with people who move into the country, then beech about raccoons, opossums, skunks and other critters. the critters were there way before the people were, it's their home. and that's all i am gonna say about that. :p

Confirmed. It's cold as a witch's tit in a brass bra out there :danger:

Please keep us posted.

I'm working from home today to avoid the commute in the middle of the snow.

I already burned through the 5 gallons of diesel I bought this morning. :-/

Turned all the burners on the stove on - put a fan behind it to move the air around, and have a fire going in the living room.

69F right now - I'm amazed.

Did the math - the stovetop is 4000 watts - if I run it for 8 hours at 10.024 cents per kwh - it will only cost me a little over $3 a day until the oil truck comes.

A place some call paradise
At 6'5 I can definitely say it's not a tall persons world. I blame all the things being so low for my bad posture, Hondas for my knee pains and hotels and te entire state of Hawaii for how jacked up I always look because I can never see myself in the mirror.
One thing that I found salvation in was a 30 shower head that is flexible and allows the head to be almost on the ceiling.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful day off for me today. Back to work tomorrow but it's the holidays so I intend to not accomplish anything until the middle of January.

oooo.. grass fed country beef.. nice - or they could be corn fed.. but I like to think happy cows-- right up hubby's alley (who's six foot eight - married within species we always say)
I didn't say that I'm not good at hitting anything.. just the noise from afore mentioned 12ga will take care of a coyote - and there are plenty of rodents for those scavengers to eat. Actually, I'd probably have trouble hitting the side of a barn.. from the inside ;) Hubby's the marksman - figured we don't need 2.

oh wait.. your beef about people.. not your beef.. my bad - nothing like actually reading the post slowly, right? I missed the whole *with people who move into* part.

I think I'm getting a nic-ache.. need to swap down my nic level for the moment.. but my coffee flavors are soooo good - I don't waaannnaaa
maybe a nap until I make sense again eh?

..wait - I think I got something wrong...

I just laugh when they ask if I play basket ball and ask them if they are a natural for miniature golf. :)

I live in the country and have for most of my life. I did move into the city a few times just to see if I was missing something and figured out that I do not like to live where I can hit someones house if I throw a rock :)

I do not own a collection of handguns, I do own a few rifles and shotguns. I like to shoot, cook and eat things. God took the effort to make them taste good I figure enjoying them is the least I can do. I do not get the assault weapon craze at all, but those who are afflicted with it should be able to have them if they want.

I would venture that more people are killed each year in the USA in vehicle accidents cause by alcohol than by persons shooting a gun at someone. I do not drink, but still think people should be able to, if they want.

i have known parents who have lost children to both drunk drivers and gun toting idiots. doubtful your statement would be very comforting to either set of parents. just sayin'.....

Not to get into a great debate....

I personally lost a loved one to a drunk driver. For a long time I was angry at people who drink, people who sell drinks, and anything associated with alcohol. I finally made peace with it and realized alcohol did not kill the person. Some idiot who chose do drive after drinking too much did.
Linear arguments are cool and all, easy to follow. Because X kills we get rid of X, Y kills we get rid of Y. Pretty soon it is a vanilla world with little variation. Freedom of choice is a great thing, people used to be raised with the responsibility to handle that level of freedom. These things are not the problem, it is people that are the problem, people suck and there are more and more of them everyday. There is a whole movement to ban or severely limit the use of e-cigs, reports daily of people having them blow up in their faces, bad reactions to e-juice and the horrors of vaping anti-freeze. I happen to enjoy vaping, just as I enjoy hunting. I like living in a country where I have these choices, for however long I still get to have these choices.

Just switch from Lightspeed back to Moo Juice, Yum.

I think it was the Catholic Church who told the Aztecs to use pork instead of human in their Pozole because "it tastes very similar". Wonder how they knew that :p

Gives a whole new meaning to transubstantiation and "The Body of Christ... The Blood of Christ."

Wow, pretty sure that just sealed my fate in hell, unless I get special dispensation for humor.
