Oh darn, just give me a minute....... Ok, check again. :p Seriously though, keep an eye on it over the next several weeks. People have been getting nailed with that charge (and others) since the beginning of November and it is on-going.

Is this an MBV thing? What's going on exactly?

It's not an MBV thing. There are several threads on the forums about a mysterious $9.84 charge on peoples credit/debit cards. You better check yours and see if there are any charges on there that you didn't make.

Charges from where? What's the connection? I'll do that. Thanks.

No. The news is reporting that it was a security breach with Target, but a lot of people who haven't shopped at Target recently are seeing charges. I think people forget though that we have no idea how long Target was hanging onto that CC information. I'm betting most of the ones who got hit have shopped at Target in the last 6 months. I could be wrong though, it could be a payment processor, but if so, they are keeping it quiet.

I'm hoping it was just Target, if it was a payment processor then I'll probably see the charges pop up at some point on one of my accounts. :( But I haven't shopped at Target in a VERY long time. hehe. Also, my accounts are mostly empty anyway, but it would still be a hassle.

It could be from a number of different places. They've traced it back to Britian & a few southeast Asian countries. People seem to think it was from the Target breach, but it's far more widespread than that.

I've seen people reporting getting hit who've never shopped at Target in their lives. I've also heard speculation that it was through Amazon, but it's been nothing more than just speculation.

Well I checked and I am good so far. I'll keep looking. I don't go to Target because it's dangerous for me. It's a time and money suck haha. But if it's Amazon well, then I'm screwed.

Ditto. Luckily for me I'm really OCD about my budget... I'm either perfect or worse than an 18 year old with their first credit card. So I check all 3 of my accounts daily & spend at least 45 minutes a day in Quicken.

Edit: I don't believe it's either Target or Amazon. Target did have a huge breach recently, but I just don't believe this is 100% related. It could be from a processing center, it could be from an auto-pay service, it could be using numbers from the Target breach & trying different combos with the last 4 digits. Hard to say. It's likely they're doing the 9.84 charge as a tester & coming back later to wipe it out, or it could be just a low cost hit across so many sources that it adds up to a big payout. No one really seems to know anything about it at this point.

why is it that when your going nuts trying call a bunch of numbers and get some stuff done,

THAT is when you get ....-dialed, so you can yell into the phone and no-one is listening? :glare:

re:pO, the delivery folks aren't that bad, it's the folks at the counter that have that, "i only want to wait on 6 people before my next break look"

I am slowly cleaning things out in there. The Toy Yorkie is no longer with us :( I did a trial run of some mod holders and cases. I have been playing with a few more designs as well. The trial run went well, I was able to drop them off at local B&Ms and they went fast. Hopefully I will be able to fund my vaping hobby with it :) First thing to try and fund is a radial drill press so I can cut down on the amount of jigs and custom clamps for angle boring mod stands. I am starting to find that a good radial drill press than doesn't have a lot of play in it runs into some serious money. Maybe I can sell the One Way and buy three or four of them :p. That is one expensive lumber stand.

I had to sell my 1945 Unisaw with original goose egg motor cover, Beismeyer fence, Bully Dog extension/router table, rebuilt arbor/bearings/machined pulley, etc,
my Delta 8" DJ20 Jointer with 2HP Baldor motor,
my Baldor 1/2 speed grinder, 1962 Rockwell lathe, my Powermatic belt sander,
um, I'm gonna stop now

I have a collection of antique tools in some custom antique carpenters cases/chests. I have actually showed up at customers houses with this. They ask "what in the world is all that?" I reply "cordless tools" :)

That's who my problem is with. There is no such thing as delivery out here, you have to go to the post office to pick up your mail. But on that note the last place I lived with delivery was that bad. He stopped at our box if he felt like it which was about 9 out of 10 days.

I just went back again... 5 hours after today's mail was supposed to be delivered, I still don't have the mail from Friday, Saturday or today yet. I give up. I've been down there 5 times today. I'll settle for a half intelligent monkey who can tell the difference between a banana & a tennis shoe at this point. Those idiots are costing me too much money. Time to drink.

well, I'll be a monkeys uncle!

Neither rain nor sleet nor dark of night ...

makes any difference when you get your mail.

We take pride in the fact, and you know we're right ...

you prolly have probs cuz it's the boonies. here, you get the "5 windows, only 1 is open and it's too damn bad that the lobby is full cuz we are only allowed to work so hard and as English is our 2nd language we will pretend we don't understand you if you are unhappy with this" folks.

our delivery lady is sweet. unfortunately she is the same age as a lot of the folks who live here. this is housing for elderly/disabled people. she seems to know everyone, and instead of dropping off the mail, she has to chat with everyone and make plans for the evening. in her defense, she is being angelic to some lonely people here. on the other hand, i'm sitting there trying to pretend that i don't want her to shut the heck up and put my vapemail in the damn box!
