The basic philosophy of any Good Martial Arts schools no matter the style is one that teaches you "How Not to Fight" it's not just a simple matter or skills learning, it's a manner of learning who you are and who you wish to be and how you wish to be seen. These are what I had instilled in the students when I was teaching them. When they have the respect for themselves and confidence within themselves this will translate to how they treat others and this also leads to them being respected for who they are.

I've been looking. I haven't really found a teacher yet that runs with this philosophy. I'd rather my daughter spend 3 months learning self control and discipline (which we are also working on every day with her), than just have her come out of it beating up all her friends when she doesn't get her way. A few of the places I have sat in on for lessons seem to be interested only in teaching the skills, and not the philosophy. :(

Pretty sure your brain MRI was more than 3 seconds!! Mine was excruciatingly long. You probably just don't remember that part on account of the concussion. On the exit thing, that's true, and a fact I never knew until I moved here. My home is actually Exit 63 off the Parkway. People have those oval stickers on their cars with exit numbers out here!!

It was only 3 seconds. :glare:

:)

Aaaannnd... [insert another "That's what she said" joke here]

What's that stuff they inject in you that makes you want to barf? I've done two of those (both times I was so riddled with pain I hardly remember anything other than wanting to vomit). And one of those I was sitting up for. Man, I felt like I should have won something for that feat. All I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and cry and I had to sit up and not move for 30 minutes... an hour and a half later they said "good enough" because they had to restart it a couple times.

The first time was the worst. I thought they said "Make sure you eat something 30 minutes before you come to have it done." Then when I get there it was "You haven't eaten anything have you?" That was after they injected me.

Hi Sam!! How's your day been? I think the word you're looking for is "emote"!! I like those fancy emoticons. I'm jealous!!!

i'm doing much better, physically! my heart felt like it was petering out this morning. a nice walk made it worse. laying down made it worse. i finally managed to catch a nap and everything feels better.

things got "iffy" here. i'm sure there are some bruised feelings.

other than that, let's see what i can come up with:

Hello Oz. I'll go check it out now :)

Helpful at all? I know U4ia was the one asking more questions, but I thought there might be something of value in there even for someone who's not completely new to it. In hindsight, I probably should've wiped off all the dark juice before I took the pics & made it look a little cleaner, but even stopping to take multiple pics of each step it only took me about 7 minutes from start to finish.

let's see, the boy forgot the corsage and made an illegal U-turn. this caused the delivery truck to swerve off the road. while the driver was explaining his 2 martini lunch to the cops, the boy snuck the sewing machine out of the truck. he was hoping that his girlfriend would be more impressed with that than a packet of 3.

conclusion, the driver got a ticket and the boy did not get lucky that nite!

how'd i do?

Yes, it is helpful to see the steps. My set up is slightly different since I'm building vertical coils and hemp fiber, but the idea is the same :)
