Along with my sarcasm I am generally a cynic. In recent years I have made an effort to be positive when I can. I'm going to try and be positive about this but I do find it odd that we have to wait until Tuesday to find out. I have no issues signing a waiver or waiting for their lawyer to write the "warning" verbage on Monday if that is why they need that day... Which is me being positive. lol

I too am a reforming cynic, and like you I have no problem with the wait. I just find the wording a bit glib considering the firestorm that's been set off. It reads like, "shh, everything's fine but don't tell anyone," which is just a little weird. Granted, words are my trade, and I realize they're not everyone's strong suit, so I'm fairly sure I'm reading too much into it. But here's how *I* would have put it based on a couple of scenarios -

Scenario 1: They know everything is fine, but for whatever reason (typing up new disclaimers, consulting lawyers, whatever) it won't be back up till Tuesday.

"We will be releasing a public statement on Tuesday about our Cinnamon flavor. We need some time to get that statement together, but we think you'll be pleased with what we've decided."

Scenario 2: They don't have all the info they need back yet, and won't till Tuesday, but all *indications* are positive.

"We will be releasing a public statement on Tuesday about our Cinnamon flavor. We are currently waiting for the final test results, but we're optimistic."

I know this all looks like hair splitting, and it probably is - I've been known to take a red pen to a grocery list - but to me, either of those statements would read a lot less like "We know exactly what we're planning to do, but we're sitting on bringing them back so as to pump up Black Friday sales." (oops, I said it.)

To be clear, I don't really think that's the *intent* here, but it reads shifty even though I don't think they meant it to.

Well, I'm a little ...... off, I went to pick up my check yesterday as there was not enough time for it to be directly deposited and as my bank has no actual brick and mortar store front I sent it by scan, they are showing it as being received however due to it being the 1st time that it was ever done this way by me, they put a hold on it and the funds will not be released until Dec 2nd, so there goes my damn BF purchase, all I was going to get was about 6 flavorings and a battery! I had contacted them and they said they would put in a request to have some of the funds made available but I will not know if any will be available until Tuesday. I was just going to get those flavorings before BF and on BF get the Battery and normally juices that I am out. I am not a happy person right now! W.T...H.... else can go wrong now! I have not been in a position to purchase anything for like 3 months now and was excited to be able to get a few things at least. Should have known better!!! Oh well, such is life.

Oh, I'm hanging in there. It's just frustrating to see that the money is just sitting there and I can't use it to get what I need or pay a bill I need to pay as well, but I don't have any control over it so I just have to wait and deal with it.

Even if he could, which is unlikely with most banks, it's not something I'd do unless it was something like a rent/car payment at risk... check cashing places take *ludicrous* percentages for doing you the "favor" of cashing the check, and if you're making peanuts to start with, that hurts. It's a poverty tax by any other name, but it's legal, so what can ya do.

Hey there Darlin, you have been missed, I see Sam told you that in the other thread!
No, I can't as when you do a echeck deposit you sign the back but also have to put on it, "For Deposit Only" I'll be a bit happier if they will release a portion of it so I can at least get the flavorings as I don't know how much will be left over after BF, but will see what happens. And maybe I'll get some good news from them about work as well, but I don't hold out a lot of hope on that front due to the circumstances, it's hard to remain positive after all this BS, but it's not the end of the world.

Ummm, sorry, yes I did! We don't get a great deal of cold weather until another few weeks or so, we are expected to get to 46 tomorrow night, but then back up in the 50's. However we do get some cold weather here, 2 years ago it did snow a bit in the morning and we get a few weeks of Teens and 20 degree weather as well. But nothing like most of you all get!

There are ways around this, but since it's not an actual B&M bank and you've already signed it for
deposit only, there's not much you can do. Your best bet would have been to take it to the bank
it was drawn on and get cash, that would have no charge with it for not being a customer.

I won't care it's so flipping c-c-c-old out there. Northerly winds and I don't get along. It will change

Stupid bank security software. I think if you push hard enough they will release a portion of the funds, but you might have to go up the chain. Agent, supervisor, operations manager, and so on. Sometimes it's just a matter of refusing to take no for an answer and a willingness to spend so much time on the phone with them that they give in. They could do a manual check verify in about 5 minutes, if that. It's just a matter of getting them to see it your way and making them do it.

Yeah, I'm spoiled....grew up in the snow, to ever be in it again would be 2 soon!
Around here we see snow (and it doesn't stick) maybe every 10 yrs. That's enough.....

Well, I would still have needed to put it in the bank as that is how I pay all my bills etc, I however didn't expect such a long hold time on it, typically would have only been 48 - 72 hours, but being as this was the very first time I deposited in this manner they put a 5 business day hold on them to ensure they will be collected. I really have no complaints about them as they really have great service and I have no monthly cost for checking or savings, however had I know there was going to be that long of a hold I could have put it in my other bank account the I really don't like using at all but a portion of it would have been available.

Well, have another glass of wine, then have one for me. Oh and I only have a leather vest and jacket and don't really think I would enjoy riding too long on my bike with only having those to wear and I have not been able to find my gloves!

Thanks, I had already spoken to a Supervisor and she is putting in a request to have some funds made available and I will know if it goes through by Tuesday as I told them I didn't expect the whole thing to be released due to policy but they should be able to release a portion of it. So will see.

Thanks, I am not really wanting for juice, I mean I have just to hold me over, just my favorite ones are pretty much gone. I was just hoping to be able to get the Flavoring for DIY before BF hit as I don't know what will be left over. I was smart enough to put away small amounts of my must haves to hold me until BF but will see if the actually juices (not flavorings) of my favorites will be available or not, I hope so. I would somewhat expect them to have covered the bases on most of the flavors given the time of year, but you never know and it would suck if I can't at least get something for BF with the discount, especially now things are pretty tight.
