but honestly, I prefer my pyrex smoktech aros... they're cheaper, the coils are cheaper, and they're a little easier to rebuild than the protank (it has to do with how far down the coil sits when it's screwed into the tank base - there's a little less margin for error). The aros and the protanks vape the same, so it comes down to how much you're willing to spend and how much you'd prefer the removeable driptip that comes on the protanks.

Thanks Sean ... I'll check the Aros out ... I really don't see me rebuilding my coils I'm pretty much a "plug and play" kind of guy (translates to lazy). A big concern is the diameter of the tank, it needs to fit into my VTR, I hate the looks of the extension needed to fit the wider tanks.

Sorry, my "I have no idea what country I'm from" side was showing. :D

faff
British/Irish informal
verb: spend time in ineffectual activity

Origin: late 18th century (originally dialect in the sense 'blow in puffs', describing the wind): imitative. The current sense may have been influenced by dialect faffle 'stammer, stutter', later 'flap in the wind', which came to mean 'fuss, dither' at about the same time as faff (late 19th century)

I don't have my calipers handy, but the aros are quite narrow in diameter (they're also rather tall to make up for that). A quick and dirty measurement with a tape measure got me about 1/2 an inch wide and a little over 3 inches tall, if that helps... so I can't imagine it wouldn't fit.

You're right, I just figured I'd better quote from an unbiased source since Hiberno-English can be a bit weird at times!

Good morning MBVers ... I'm finally going to break down and get some glass tanks so I can get rid of my safety gear when I vape those tank crackers.

Thinking either the Davide, or the Pro Tank II ....... any opinions?????

Never tried a Davide. Protank IIs are good if you can find them at a good price (shop around!) but honestly, I prefer my pyrex smoktech aros... they're cheaper, the coils are cheaper, and they're a little easier to rebuild than the protank (it has to do with how far down the coil sits when it's screwed into the tank base - there's a little less margin for error). The aros and the protanks vape the same, so it comes down to how much you're willing to spend and how much you'd prefer the removeable driptip that comes on the protanks.

I got a couple *mini* protanks because the aros hold at *least* 3.5 ml of juice and sometimes I don't want to vape that much of one flavor... but I use my regular protank II interchangeably with my aros and I can't tell the difference vape wise. As I said to Uncle Ralphie, though, if you do go the Aro route, make sure you get the pyrex ones, cause there are non-pyrex ones too, so read carefully.

FWIW .... Oh wait. G'MORNINN MBVers. Only had to catch up on 5 pages :)

Now, FWIW I have 2 PT II's and 3 3/4 PTII mini's (assembled one from spare parts ... missing drip tip thingy) plus sever EVODs. This is where I'm kinda OCD because I only need to buy one style of head. Oh wait, I've got a couple iClear 30's but that's besides the point.

Anyhoo, I think I read that the Kanger heads will work with a Davide but haven't bought one to try yet although I've heard good things about them.

I've been tempted to try the SmokTech, they are cheaper, but read about some leaking issues ... might have been caused by user error ... but I've had absolutely no problem with PT's leaking as long as I'm careful when I unscrew them and make sure the bottom fitting is unscrewing and not just the tank. I've given my batts a juice-bath a couple of times. quite the mess. I even went so far as to buy some colored glass tubes for both so I can try to remember what juice is in what tank when I refill. Almost works sometimes ... if I can get past those senior moments.

I normally rotate quite a few flavors every day. The way I keep track is to use a rubber band around the Bottle and Tank with that flavor.
Otherwise, I have no clue. Well, most days I have no clue anyway......but not on which tank has what anymore :)

They get a little gurgly for the last half a ml or so, but the only time I've had one leak is if I didn't replace the flavor wick sufficiently - they come with three 1 millimeter pieces of silica as a flavor wick, and they *need* that there, so a piece of 3mil wick or a carefully fluffed piece of 2mil wick will do as a replacement... figuring out exactly what works best for your flavor wicks (if you're replacing them instead of just replacing the whole coil) does require a little practice.

I liked the way the VTR "protected" the tank ... with the tank above the MVP, I was worried about snapping it off (I'm not only old but I'm clumsy too).

plus on a side note, the looks of the VTR kind of reminded me of a transistor radio from my misspent youth.

Hadn't thought about that ... I was thinking (?) looks versus function so instead I went and bought several Spinners and different colored evods ... that would have gone a long way towards juice money

I hear ya on the "clumsy" part for sure. I have dropped my MVP a couple of times. Luckily, once was on the carpet, and the other on a hardwood floor. I immediately thought.....oh geez ..... there goes the tank, snap. But no damage, fortunately .

As long as you enjoy it, that's all that counts anyway :)

I like the MVP cuz it's charge and go where the VTR uses an 18650 (I think) batt but the VTR has a bigger trigger button which would be an advantage for arthritic hands so I have to hold mine kind of weirdly at times.

I sort of saw the replaceable battery as a plus, I always have a battery installed and one fully charged, when the light goes yellow I swap them and I'm good to go. Battery life is good enough that I really don't need to carry an extra, even for a whole day at work.

I love mine. I will say, it took a bit for me to get used to the button location. It just seemed weird to me. But, I got used to it.
I love the fact that I can charge and go about 2 days without recharge. Plus, to me , I wanted something as far removed from a "cigalike" as possible. I don't want people to associate vaping with smoking. The shape and size of the MVP accomplishes that. Now they say "what is that" instead of, "hey you can't smoke here " I don't vape where you normally can't smoke, but you know people !!!
