Yeah or the reverse, a $400 car sitting on $5,000 worth of wheels and tires.
i've somehow managed to cut my play time back drastically. the end of the expansion is coming, so that probably has something to do with it. i didn't have time to invest in my alt over the past year, so that reduced the amount i play. i'm not sure how i'm feeling about the next xpac, but i figure i'll still play fairly competitively. i just don't have the time to put in all the math homework anymore on it.
I played the original series as well, many times over, I even got to play some of the content that was never released. I worked at Origin "back in the day".
God, I am old.
I consider myself lucky to have made it to 42.

I made it my personal mission to find every hidden room, every hidden perk in that huge game. I got to the point where I would set it to the hardest level and play straight thru without a single save.

Yeah, I hear you. Once the raids are heavily populated it starts to get pretty boring. The last one I did was Dragon Soul, which was downright pathetic & had to have been pretty embarrassing for Bliz.

I think Ralphie's been moved from the in hiding list to the missing persons list.
I still crank doom up every once in a while. I have a few friends from those days, we get together and play Doom, Doom2, C&C, Warcraft, Starcraft and Decent. Bunch of old nerds playing great games with terrible graphics.
I too enjoy shooting Zombies.

Yeah, I just flipped through the last couple pages. Stupidity last night drank way too much caffeine this morning & ran with it. It's too bad that CCW folks are painted in the light they are. There's very few with a hair trigger like that situation & there's even fewer who do it for the 'talisman' effect (I carry so I'm invincible) or the most common accusation, doing it for 'the feeling of power'. It's so far from the truth, but that's what the media gave the masses & too many people drank the koolaid.
Studies have shown exactly the opposite. The majority of people who CCW grow thicker skin, veer away from potential trouble, stay more 'under the radar' if you will, than before they carried. It's a subtle shift and one I know well.
Friend and I would connect via modem and go through it on Co-op. We made it all the way to the end level on the hardest difficulty setting in about 8 hours one after noon. The Hell Knights always freaked us out and amped up our adrenaline. Soon as we heard that roar it was time to break out the rocket launchers and BFG.
My favorite weapon was always the double barrel shotgun. I don't know why, but it was always my go-to in DoomAnnnd, I bought a 12 pack of Guiness, so I'm a happy camper this weekend.
