Bunch of phone recordings, and even more f'in around...but I have a lot of rough ideas recorded in better quality, and a pretty decent "album" thing I made with fruity loops demo back in '06.. Amanda has probably played drums 10 times. .but she definitely knows what's going on..she's not Neil Peart, but all things considered..wow. pretty much.
Lol, I think I'd like jamming with you SuspectK, esp if you like ambient, doom, and or the more altered and electric side of jam bands.
With guitar I love making a big pitch shifted, harmonized, fuzzed, delayed mess of a sound on a bone simple melody and then play around with wah like I used to knob twiddle when I had synths to mess with. Maybe I can talk my wife into getting me a better volume pedal for Christmas so I can do those nice even volume swells like Stars of the Lid, while still having a wah to play with. Also wish I could get pedals that controlled the resonance and frequency like all the tabletop synths have knobs for...that would be sick.
I have a synth wah pedal...but yeah, having full control of it from a pedal would be neat... you'd need probably 4 pedals, at least...maybe even just have it be like the korg r3... have a full synth, with a switch to change what those pedals control.

Edit- one reason I haven't bought a new synth is because I really want an access virus (C or tii) or moog sub phatty..but the korg ms-20 can have an instrument plugged into it, and use that instead of the keyboard..that could be something, but I dunno...I'd prefer a virtual patch synth.
Editedit-lol.. forgot about listening to the drum and bass thing..I guess one person heard all that bs for 8 minutes..if it didn't send them off quickly. :)
Need a guitarist, and maybe a good multitasker...if you're interested in a JAM band, and you're around N. Alabama..hit me up.

Hey there, I can play a little and sing, but its Pure Country I sing not the new stuff. I have the Old Baritone Style Voice. Jim Reeves, Lefty, Merle, Cash, etc.

I have been Singing for about 40 years or so and learned to Play Rhythm Guitar and Sing at the same time about 25 years ago. :p

I have played in a few bands, did a few recordings, and wrote some songs as well! :D I haven't played much the last 5-10 years but still love it.

Nah uh.. the recent jam I posted, I be not strummin strangs.

I guess I need to make a new soundcloud... everything on there at the moment is not me alone.

But yeah, I just put up a few jams that happened back to back...I think we found our third!

I'll fix my phone. It's getting worse and worse...bad enough it was phone recorded to begin with.

Edit..I honestly haven't fixed this thing to keep me off of here..to avoid things like $500+ regulated bottom feeders...ah well..it's worth it.:)

Me bang Drums.
Since 1976.
This is a Geetar thread.
Well, here's some good ol' fashioned geetar playin' fer ya:

It's actually a musicians thread and it's also open to those who want to learn, are just beginning to play, or who have questions about anything musical to ask those who have experience.

Bass, drums, strings, keys, synth, horns, voice, whatever ... All are welcome !

I was just going to pm one person... but I want feedback. If you're older, you probably can't handle the rough phone recordings..I dunno...I want feed back for the stuff I just posted with Cameron and Ricky. We rotated...

And I actually was feeling guitar 80% of the jam..I think this is going to be my trio. :)..

I'm playing whatever instruments not being played.. the jam Cameron's on drums, I dropped into synth bass, so Ricky didn't have to worry about the bottom end.

First time cameron jammed with us...chemistry:)

So you don't have to find it...

100% improv... except that Rick James bass line Cameron did...I wanted to jam to that.edit.. and I guess Ricky did that Bob Marley riff again...two on my soundcloud with that. Jeez

That would be sick... I'm too busy to get that setup.

I don't have my recording equipment setup yet... don't have a workstation..more like a fortress.lol. 14month old loves to mess with anything in reach.

Pm me and everyone interested...I don't have means to record drums, but I have a mpc500... but I'm down for whatever.

Let's do it!:)

Edit- talking a live and remote access jam?

Ah...

I'm going to talk to people about how to setup an actual jam session..

But I'm also down to mess with tracks on ableton, cubase, ect.. I don't have authentic versions of that stuff though..but still works.

Edit- listening to that jam with Cameron on drums, I'm pretty impressed with my guitar playing for the most part.. Ricky apologized for being too technical when he shouldn't..I just told him, that's just what good musicians do...show off..:)

I think it's why I chose guitar instead of bass, even when I bought a bass back in the 80s and threatened to switch when our bass player threatened to quit because he felt he wasn't getting his way in music choices. I went out and bought a bass. He wasn't happy until I sold it to him. I'm glad he bought it from me and quit complaining. :)

Howdy there Dave,
I have had that idea since before the Inturdwebs was just a gleam in AG's eye.
Ya know, I think it was YES that did a remote pipe-organ bit over phone lines on Going for the One.
I could be wrong, but...

About a year ago we talked about a project where one member was going to setup an online track that we could all contribute to incrementally. Time passed and it never happened, but it would be interesting to see what kind of talent from ECF we can put together in a track or two.

Due to Interweb lag, A real-time jam may be difficult.
The "pass-around" tracks is good idea provided that everyone has the same or compatible multi-track software.
This is starting to sound like a logistical Klusterphuque.
I shall continue to abuse my current space and ana-dig equipment...

Well, one day, I hope we all can jam, or do something. I'm too busy to get my laptop out, and involved with everything.

Jeez..the musicians I want to play with are busy with other stuff in life..and the ones that will jam, I don't really want around.

I'm so fortunate to have a wife that plays synth bass and drums... it's been nuts, and we can only jam together when we don't have our daughter here..oh well..

Something great is about to happen..I can feel it.

Anyone know an easy site to do collaborative track creation? I'm not sure how that actually works. I have a midi card. Do we download a file, add tracks to it and upload or do we connect through software, play the existing track, and add our own?

I see lots of online music studio sites. Some charge studio time and some are free. There has to be someone here on the thread who has actually done some online recording with other musicians who can guide us into a good site that's easy to use.

I'll go by guitar center later.. Cuz it looks like it's driving us both insane..:)

Due to the options at the store, I'm getting a line 6 valve12? Tube preamp..effects board. Local shop going out of business...sold!

Shame...speaking of guitar center..45 years- good drum shop, genetic everything else..I actually got my korg r3 there..

I don't know if this counts but thought I would chime in since I'm a music lover....

I took classical piano lessons for 10 years when I was a kid. I also sang in the church choir as an alto until my voice changed, then second bass in the choir and in high school and college. While in high school, I played violin, then viola, then double bass.

I currently still play piano, but had to learn to use the damper peddle with my left foot due to nerve damage. It took a while, but now feels natural. I improvise, and do a little writing, none of it very good, but I still like to do it.

:D

My girlfriend and I love to watch youtube videos and sing together. She is a soprano, and harmonizes with me, and I with her.

Does any of that count?

;)
