Shall we all take a moment this Memorial Day to reflect upon and Thank all the ones that gave their lives to insure that we could keep the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for.

We are losing those freedoms one by one but that doesn't take away from their sacrifice for each and every one of us.

May God bless the families of all the fallen soldiers and give them peace.

And let us ever go to war unless we intend to win it. I never want another young person to die in a war that we have of intention of actually wining. There is no life, no drop of blood which is worth losing or shedding under the control of the dilettante corrupt politicians who have generally populated the presidency and congress since my birth - a long long time back. [Neither party is singled out by this statement; this statement is a blanket condemnation of all career politicians without regard for the letter after the name.]

Thank you for your thoughts CMD. I agree with all you said. My heart breaks for all the young people we are losing now because of political wars. We are sending our future generations to their death for no other reason than to line the pockets of those in power. Our young people are dieing and being maimed for nothing more than money and power and it has to end. :(

A lot of the vaping community is acting as if there is no threat at all arguing about sub cultures and whose style is right or wrong it's crazy, those are arguments to have once vaping is secure. We have to get the public realising the core reason for vaping that people wanted a healthier alternative to tobacco and in a way that was less of an impact on those around us. Cloud chasing, sub ohm'ing it's all utterly pointless if vaping is gone in a way that we want to do it. I'm not convinced the battle is over yet but the more we carry on splitting into smaller groups and arguing it will be soon.

If inconsiderate, cloud-chasing jerks (and I'm not saying all cloud-chasers are jerks, I'm referring to a specific subset of cloud-chasers) are the only vapers the public ever sees, then that is the perception we will all wear. I think it is the responsibility of courteous vapers to show the public how it's done right - and we won't do that by hiding in the closet to vape.

Thank you for your thoughts Katt. I agree that hiding in the closet isn't the way to go. I also think, or at least hope, most vapers do so in a courteous way. I know I neither flaunt nor hide the fact that I vape.

Many of us believe that wrongs aren't wrong if it's done by nice people like ourselves.
Thank you for your thoughts. My school of thought tells me that wrong is wrong no matter who a person is but who determines if something is wrong or right? I think any sensible person knows right from wrong but some choose to do it anyway. Who am I to judge?

What a wonderful memorial to all those that have fought for our freedom. Well said, Mattiem.
Thank you Bootiewootsy. I love and enjoy the freedoms they fought and died for.

That is one of the main reasons I try so hard to try to retain some of those freedoms. I don't ever want see the day that we lose ALL of what they Fought and Died for. Sadly, a lot of our personal freedoms are gone. We have to be aware of what is happening and stay diligent or the rest of them will be gone too.

War is a necessity of life in a divided world, and lives are lost.
But if they are lost in vain, the tragedy is that much more horrific.

Thanks for this thread.
Especially today.
Thank you for taking the time to read my musings DC2 and for sharing your with musings with me. So true. I once had a poster. I wish I could remember it all but it started--"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things". The gist of the poster was, Someone not willing to fight for what is right is much worse. That is how I feel.

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things:

A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other.” John Stuart Mill

We are in a war right now against those that would take away our ability to choose a healthier way of life. I hope there are enough of us willing to put ourselves out there to fight for those that choose not to or those that don't even realize that we need to fight.

I hope it is alright to resurrect this thread. Guess I am in a musing mood again today.

I was sitting here thinking about the fact that we are almost at the 15,000,000th post for this forum. Awesome accomplishment. We have almost 223,000 registered members and who can know how many lurkers.

Just think, if all those 223,000 + lurkers got 1 person fighting this fight with them and each of those got 1 person. We would end up with a force that would be listened to. We would number in the 10's of millions in a very short time.

Those of us that spend time on this forum know that we are fighting for our ability to continue vaping the way we are today. Today we have so many choices and are able to find something that works for us and I think that is why it works so well.

If the tobacco companies have their way, I fear for those that are just now finding this life saving alternative to smoking. Their only choice will be closed system devices with a high price and short lifetime. I am afraid if that is their only choice, they will choose cigarettes instead. It's a win/win for the tobacco companies and for those that depend on the tobacco settlement agreement. :(

To those that believe we should only vape where smoking is allowed, Please reconsider. If we vape in a considerate way out in public it gives us an opportunity to educate the general public. I know that there are some folks that will hate us no matter what but we need to reach those with an open mind to the possibilities. This one device has the potential to totally wipe out smoking and save future generations from the health threat of cigarettes.

I was outside Friday afternoon at an event with my co-workers. Sitting out in an open field. I took one hit off my mod, and the guy next to me about jumped out of his skin because he thought I was blowing cigarette smoke at him. I showed him my device and apologized. I was OUTSIDE for God's sake! WHERE will we be able to vape?

It sounds like one of those that has been so brainwashed they can't see the forest for the trees  did he still think it was smoke even after you showed him what it was? If so then that is one of the ones that will hate us no matter what :( I am sorry that you weren't allowed to sit there and enjoy your vape.
