So i built my first sub 1 ohm coil...HOLY WOW. I am vaping on a Curve from Nhaler with an AW IMR (rotate between a few of those and a few panasonic IMR) and at 3.65v this thing hits harder than my Provari (which is now just a very expensive ohm checker when i get lazy and don't want to use the multimeter) ever did with a carto tank (which i sold all of the ones I owned).

Basically getting a mechanical MOD paired with an RBA was the best decision i have made (curve was the first) I now own 3 curves, 3 EAs, 5 GG clones, have Hybrids in the works and many others coming. I am ADDICTED to RBAs+Mechanical mods. It has caused me to sell one of my two Provaris and am working on selling the other cause it just doesn't seem to have a purpose (to me). There is no going back to VV or carto tanks, that is for sure. I have become a believer that "if you know how to build a proper coil you can creat magic"

I have to say this has by far been the best idea i've ever had. Buy an RBA and a mechanical and see what it is all about. WOWZA

Anyone who wants to not be limited by the amp limit of an electronic switch and push some crazy numbers, get yourself a RBA (i prefer drippers) and a good mechanical MOD with brass contacts and I can almost promise (if you learn to build the right coils) you won't ever feel the need for VV or VW.

Just wanted to share my findings and say I am happier than ever!

There is a lot of sputtering and wasted juice/battery life using RBA's and ss wick. Bit as tcad mentioned, the taste and vapor can be really phenominal if a proper coil/wick is made. I make my own juice, too, and I can tolerate some waste. I'm not exclusive to RBA's as I like my Kangers, too. Mostly use RBA's at home and occasionally when in my work office.

i havent noticed any problems with this.

I keep seeing threads like this and keep trying mechs with low res coils and just dont see the fuss. but this just shows how everyone has different preferences i guess. all i keep doing is getting a headache cause im such an addict to chain vaping. lol

Don't get me wrong. I have my RBA's and they have their place in my arsenal. Unfortunately I still have not found anything I want to vape for hours on end and I hate leaving a tank filled for days or longer. Also long work hours often demand a simpler more compact vape setup.

I normally Wrap my coils around 1.5-2.0ohms and can adjust for the warmth/Vapor I enjoy. LOL- yea I will occasionally crank it up, but I just can't handle a setting that's overly warm or to thick. Then again, I'm right at 60, smoked for over 45 years and could barely take a deep breath when I quit.
Getting better though.

I'm new to rba and learned that 24mg e juice is plenty high. I usually vape 36 because I don't want to chain vape to get my nic. I was celebrating my beginners RBA ( well, I just added a Pre made wick and coil) getting great vapor, and multitude of hits for a dripping atty and made myself sick in 6 to 7 hits. Maybe a few more. So someone might be able to explain the science of that? Why more nic from better coils? 3.00 ohm. I usually vape 1.7

^not sure exactly what you're asking but I think if i read it correctly you're wondering (essentially) why an RBA is mroe intense and making you sick? Well generally they produce a hotter vapor especially with a low ohm coil. when i run a .9ohm coil it is a vrey vry warm vapor and it gets A LOT of juice vaporized and into my body, much more than any cartomizer or anything else i've tried. If you run a super low coil 1.5 or lower you will have a much hotter coil and it will use more juice since it gets much hotter therefore putting more more nic (more juice=more mic) into your body. Not sure if i explained that right or if that even answers your question. Essentially an RBA (to me) hits the hardest of any other setup and utilizes the most juice per hit especially at lower ohms, therefore more nic gets to your body quicker. Someone chime in if im wrong or didn't make sense there.

im thinking that the nicotine concentrates into the vapor better and is more atomized then other methods of vaping and therefor we absorb more with a genesis as it is the only system where the wick when heated acts like it is also part of the coil (more heat per sq inch-more vapor-more concentrated nic per ml of vapor)
who knows, nic absorption may even be affected directly by heat ratio etc etc.
all i know is the first time i fired up a geni, i about fell out my chair and have been hooked ever since.
