I am 97% sure that i have found Bobas secret ingredient.

I posted a long ... post detailing the finer points of why i believe it to be the ingredient... However i have deleted it... I am struggling ethically ... I have no desire to bring down this mans business. I just enjoy puzzles and did not think this would actually lead to something... Buuuuut well...

Plus I have seen other people in other threads refuse to give out the recipe for a known juice.

Everything fits. 100% VG. Why you cant get 0mg nic. Flavors described fit. Availability fits. Why he got it overseas fits. Even the name fits (albeit a clever play on words. Im sure he didnt want to just GIVE the ingredient away).

Lol would the right thing to do just be to capitalize on it myself? I guess im more posting this to help my thought process than asking for ethical help. Though your input wouldn't be unhelpful. Im new to the mixing thing and have wanted to eventually sell juices. I love e-cigs as a hobby, so I guess i dont want to be hated for thousands of bobas clones floating around the market and destroying one of the most loved juices ever made...

Well I'll sleep on it and see what people say I suppose.

I get beer too but not a shandy. No coffee either. Personally, I don't much care what's in Boba's exactly. If we all knew then would we be having all this fun? lol
I posted a recipe awhile back with tobacco, beer, nuts and whiskey. To me it was pretty close. I tried it without the beer and no. Not even close at all. Oh, and I tried one with cola too, both HS red cola and blue cola. Nuh-uh! That was kinda nasty to tell the truth.

Interesting review of Bobas.
He tastes beer/lemonade mix - bit of coffee and tobacco

Actually, while taste is totally subjective, it's not that far off IMHO. Many British beers are very malty/bready and some are quite sweet. I can see where he gets a lemon Shandy with a bit of coffee/tobacco flavor from Bobas.

Comparing flavors is always somewhat dependent on what flavors you are familiar with....

This whole thread started because someone else thought the same thing. Alas, it fit only for his taste buds. Once others tried making it and comparing it to their experience, it was close, but not buba's.

So go ahead and offer your recipe, let DIY folks test it, compare it to their taste buds, see how it changes over time compared to their taste buds ... see if you are yet another who comes close, who nailed one stage, or if you have actually done it.

I offer as consolation the hundreds of small vendors who are selling simple stuff like blueberry, apple, ect ... the vast majority do not want to DIY ... so even if you actually did manage to get a clone of the entire range of Boba's expression in taste ... it would at most be a drop in the bucket as far as the number of people who would actually make it, and the majority who would rather buy it premade.

If you reveal the recipe and it's a match, you will be forever known in e-cig history to crack the mystery and allow DiYers and others to help people quit the cancer sticks. That you will be rewarded in other ways which is better than financial gain. You helped people and save/restore lives if this ejuice can be widely available.

Btw, please tell us it's not some asian ingredient like fish sauce or soy sauce. :)

Wow I need to learn how to vape like that. I hope Rikiel will come back and tell us the what's in BB so we can finally know for certain what flavors are being mimicked. I do have another snack which has the elements in what people describe - Kar's Sweet & Salty Mix.

I don't get it... you firmly believe you know the 'secret ingredient' (that's to say if it's only one secret ingredient), and instead of posting what it is, you post this. You're what, testing the water? Seeing if you can benefit in some way? If it's truly an ethical dilemma, then why even post this at all?

Could it be Amaretto? Amaretto DIY Flavoring

From Wiki-
"Amaretto is a sweet, almond-flavoured, Italian liqueur. It is made from a base of apricot pits or almonds, sometimes both."

"Lazzaroni Amaretto (24% abv), produced by Paolo Lazzaroni & Figli S.p.A., also presents itself as the first such liqueur. It is based on an infusion of Amaretti di Saronno (macaroons), a process which imparts a "delicate almond/apricot flavour". Lazzaroni claim the tale of the young couple blessed by the bishop as the origin of their generations-guarded family recipe, dating it to 1718; the amaretto has been in production since 1851.[8]"

Based on how others describe BB, here are some flavor possibilities from DIYFlavor:

Beer - Expert Beer Flavoring DIY

Vanilla Butternut - Vanilla ButterNut Flavoring DIY

Skore - SKORE E-Liquid

Hazenut - Hazelnut Flavoring DIY

Tropical Punch (Guessing here since the reviewer said Lemonade...maybe Tropical has coconut, nuts, raisins, etc.

For Tobacco this could be one of the flavors:

The secret ingredient is just VG steeped in a vat with a well worn pair of Birkenstocks for 3 months.

I've heard it could be a sort of tea, maybe tapioca....could it be a Korea drink like this:

"Korea has a number of traditional fruit wines, produced by combining fruits or berries with alcohol. Podoju (포도주, 葡萄酒) is made from rice wine that is mixed with grapes. The most popular fruit wines are made from maesil plums (such wine called maesilju, mae hwa su, mae chui soon, or Seol Joong Mae), bokbunja (복분자, Korean black raspberries, Rubus coreanus Miquel, 15% alcohol)[7], Chinese quinces, cherries, pine fruits, and pomegranates. Bokbunja ju (복분자주, 覆盆子酒, lit. bokbunja wine)

You guys are thinking too mainstream. After endless minutes of research, I've uncovered the truth.

Its the sweat of a bounty hunter. It all makes sense. There's nicotine in the sweat. Sweat-collecting is legal in Korea, but awkward and investigation-worthy here in the states. It was changing color depending on the Dog's water and nutrient intake at that time, but that was 'resolved' by forcing-feeding him particular amounts of water and nutrients throughout the day (another legal issue). Evaporating out the water allows this to be dissolved in VG. The flavor profile is for sure probably spot on. The availability issue makes sense. Its so flawless.

I'm off to open up an ejuice store that only offers one juice.

Leland's Bounty. 2 cents cheaper than Boba's, available in different pg/vg ratios, more readily available, and will be marketed towards the younger, more rebellious vapers (18+ obviously).

Lol. I noticed that too, people want to make money off BB. Why not just post your findings. I don't think Ben will go out of business from someone making a clone. He has loyal customers and some people just don't care about DIY. It's like someone telling people they have the cure for a common illness or condition but waits to try and start a business. It's like software, you have open source which is the DIY vaper and you got paid licensing for the person who wants all the perks.

I remember the other fellow vaper who had a moral dilemma and revealed his recipe later. I tried that one which is good if you're going for a cola drink vape. I hope tomorrow the recipe will be shared and I know what I'll be doing this weekend.....anyone feeling like they need to stock up on supplies before FDA hits the industry with restrictions.

Yes Rikiel's post is 'odd' given the 1200 + posts here but still doesn't mean that we shouldn't hear his theory in full. We (DIY'ers) will never replace Boba's, there is only one Boba's.

As a percentage of users DIY'ers are probably very small. Most will always rely on vendors like Ben. There will be the clones (Jango comes to mind :) ) but the chances of having a 100% Boba's .... slime to none.

Come-on back Rikiel and give us your thoughts.
