That's a good question, and if I remember correctly, he was using some products he purchased from USA companies that were from overseas. Then I think he said was able to also have produced here in the states.

I was thinking his customer wanted a popular and common fruit taste in that country. I had to see if it was similar to "California Golden Raisin" which was described in a BB review (maybe a posting...too many to keep track) but I thought what I tasted was very distinct fruit but couldn't name it. So I bought some Golden Raisins and as I tried to think of what tasted similar to that I thought dehydrated Mango. I know my method is little different to try to clone BB but I'm convinced once we know what BB is suppose to be, then all you mix masters can narrow down the flavors. So back to the grocery store and got Mounds bar since many are tasting coconut and chocolate. I don't taste coconut but it doesn't mean it's not there due to my atty setup and voltage. This may not be what BB is but dang it's a good combo when vaping BB. So I ate the mounds and cali raisins which created that Raisinet flavor I got but with coconut and a little caramel. I also bought dehydrated Mango and once I smelled the bag, it just reminded me of what I sort of smell in BB. What got me is when I taste a drop of BB, it has a close aftertaste to eating Mounds and Mango. So back to someones comment that there is a candy bar called Bounty. Well they have a Mango flavor Bounty Bar.

Another fruit which is popular in Korea is a persimmon but it's been a long time since I've had one. But guess what? Nature's has a VG flavor of persimmon.
Persimmon are described like a mango and apricot, or a date-plum. I think another ECF made that comparison to an apricot. Ok back to vaping BB and my new favorite candy mix. :)

World Market has Bounty bars. http://www.worldmarket.com/store-locator/landing.do It's not really any different than a Mounds. Bounty bars are Australian. If you watch Star Wars, and listen to Boba Fett's accent, he sounds Australian to me. A clue? <cue eerie music>

For the record, I don't think that's it or that there is coconut in BB.
Your candy concoction while vaping BB sounds really good Flex. :)

I had seen on an interview where Ben thanked DIY Flavor Shack. He may be getting a few flavors from there for mixing Boba.

I got a small bottle of BB and it had a logo from Good Ejuice on it. It was just the label, and in marker they wrote 'AVE Boba's Bounty.'

Yes, that was the interview where he said all ingredients are now from the US...Late Fall Circa 2009.

There were two good ones on that page so I'll copy paste the postings:

got the mix from one of the boba clones out there

ry4-10%
m-type-5%
red hots-2%
toasted almond- 3%
vanilla-3%
caramel-2%
coconut-2%
vinegar white distilled 2-3 drops for 15 ml

vaped this for a couple weeks straight before getting tired of it.

-------

This is a recipe I myself have recently concocted that is just amazing for a tobacco lover.

A.D.V. Holy Moly Tobacco

3% 555 DK tobacco (TFA)
2% M-type tobacco (TFA)
1% Light Brand tobacco (seedmans)
2% Caramel (LA)
25% 60mg/ml nic
5% water
62% VG

Best results after steeping a few weeks (4-6). It makes a great menthol tobacco mix as well.

Flexjuice you are playing it right. Keep on eating lol

I've made some interesting candy mixes that my taste buds would never have if it wasn't for BB. :)

I have not steeped my bottle of BB to keep it from changing for this endeavor. Though what I taste with my tongue hasn't changed much, the flavor when I vape is changing. It was overly sweet when I got it and it now has a hint of the tobacco my dad uses - Marlboro. I've changed my coils with new ones several times because I wanted that "Raisinet" sweetness but it looks like it's becoming something else where the tobacco flavor is more of a top note.

After reading this entire thread, and needing TA to play with, I was disappointed that TFA no longer has the "pure"......After much research on another thread here for an alternative to TFA's absolute I ordered the Rustica Tobacco Absolute. I read that it has a richer, pipe like taste, rather than a grassy or haylike first taste, as does the TFA.

My question is, this is already evidentally a thinned product. Have any of you here used it? Does it look ready to go, or should I thin more with PG? How would you use this percentage wise, as to use with some of the recipes here instead of TFA Absolute? Thanks for your time!

Decided to get back to basics, no extract. Was getting my frustration out after watching my team lose again (might need to get use to it).

Made this recipe, and the initial scent seems to be pleasing, just wish I had a brand new bottle of BB to compare:

Elder Captain (Hangsen) 21.1%
Tuscan Reserve (FA) 21.1%
Toasted Almond (Capella) 21.1%
Graham Cracker (Capella) 21.1%
Coconut (Capella) 5.2%
Cinnamon (Capella) 5,2%
TA 5.2%

(6 drops of vinegar per 30ml, pinch of EM)

Did another batch, one with Elder Captain removed and substituted, and another with Tuscan removed and substituted.

Neither alternative mix gave me the same scent that I had with the above recipe when combining the Elder & Tuscan.

First foray with Hangsen...not bad!

I'm not sure I'm digging that description.

"..contains phenols, fuajacol, salicyaldehyde, furfurol, ketones, solanesol, phynyl, acetic acid. May contain over 3,000 volatile and non-volatile components."

Maybe I'm too stupid to understand what all of those are, but didn't we switch to vaping to avoid the 4,000+ chemicals in cigs?

I too have considered DIYFS as Ave's source for tobacco flavorings. I wanted to try the VG-based flavorings, but they've yet to add them on the site (as they told me they were going to do) without the whole 'mix and vape' kit. But even if it's true that Ave utilize VG-base tobacco flavorings, and doesn't use an extract of any sort, then the only thing I can think of is preference.

Am I truly missing something here? Does Ben honestly feel that none of his tobacco blends would taste 'right' without the use of nicotine? Is there a component, aside of an extract, that is preventing him from making 0mg tobacco juices?

It is all so very perplexing. The most difficult simple blend there is.

I mean nicotine does have a taste. A subtle bitter spiciness. I have also heard that Ben "pre-steeps" the three tobacco flavorings in Boba's together. Maybe he adds nicotine to them as well during the "multi-tobacco" pre-steep blend. Perhaps the taste of oxidized nicotine has something to do with how Boba's Bounty tastes.

I am actually starting to think Ben's "It's simple" comment is to be taken lightly. Simplicity is a subjective word and I don't think "nicotine containing flavoring" is simple.

I haven't posted this one yet, because it's not something I've confirmed, as I always order Boba's at 12mg, and it's not one of Ben's posts in the forum, but I think now's a good time, since most of the NET discussion is over, and someone confirmed with Ben that Boba's doesn't contain NET. It might help a little with understanding what he's working with...
