Are you guys sure its not a bottle that is just steeped really well? A three year steep is gonna taste and smell way different than a new bottle using the same ingredients.

I've not had my hands on Boba's in such a long time. I need to get a bottle and see if it brings me back to that moment of when I first tried it.

Oh man so there's been a change in the formula. Or maybe the formula/recipe is the same and one of the flavors itself has changed even though they will still call it the same flavor/extract. I got some El kamino from good life vapor and when I first got it I knew I liked it right away. But then on my 3rd or 4th order the taste was not the same. They put too much banana in the mix. I knew there was banana in it before since it was only hints at first. But this last order the banana was strong.

So batches of recipes can vary. Ben either changed the recipe or one ingredient on the extract process has changed and Ben could be using the same recipe and not be aware that a flavor process has changed from the supplier who makes that flavor. Or a certain ingredient is hard to come by or no longer exists and Ben is using a new flavor or leaving said ingredient out altogether.

Or its just a bad mix. All speculation on my end.

When I smell the old one it feels like smelling a fermented yogurt or milk of some sort, like something ticklish and acidic. Something that feels electric I dunno if you understand what I mean. The new one is too grassy and bright. Missing this roquefort sense. As if he removed an ingredient and replaced it with a grassy one. My money is on one of the tobaccos OR some sort of fermented wine!

Ben doesn't mix batches. He mixes each bottle individually with electronic pipettes. This leads me to believe that sometimes, the mixes vary. I had a bottle of Boba's around christmas time and just ordered one last week. The two are definitely a bit different, although it's hard to pinpoint why/how, as the change is slight. I'm thinking his pipettes could be giving an extra amount of this or that accidently from time to time. As far as major ingredient changes, I haven't been vaping Boba's long enough (the christmas bottle was first ever) to know for sure.

Bobas is generally the same. But is definitely NOT what it used to be. Thats why I dont buy it anymore. My last two bottles have been bland. Its just not the same.
I agree. There is also a difference in GJ, IMO. Makes me think its one of the tobaccos that he uses in both.

Little jealous of the long time vets. I'll never know what BB once tasted like or what BWB ry4 tasted like..

I wouldn't be jealous, it's always the same folks saying BB has changed, and it's brought up every few hundred posts. I've been vaping it for years, and it hasn't changed, in my opinion. Ben also says the recipe hasn't changed, so yeah, there's that.

I even kept an older bottle from early 2012, no difference from the newer site/label batches.

Originally, like before 2010, the flavorings were from overseas, but they've all been US sourced since then. That's the only change Ben has ever mentioned.

Just smell the bottles. Do they smell the same to you?

Is your comment directed to me?

1st my question was an honest question because I really want him to smell the bottles and tell me they are the same.

Second opinions are great. If he had said my sense of smell might be impaired that's an opinion. But me telling you it is not the same is not an opinion. I don't have to think about it I just go by sense.

Does this mean that they're made in the US or just Chinese flavorings sold in the US....

Earlier spoke about using Meade (wine)in late December. I made my 1st of 5 batches on Jan. 19, 2014. Placed in a vibratory mixer at 5 minutes per hour for 72 hours and let steep untill March19, 2014. All I can say is.... WOW....I found my best result and an extremely close find. Not many seemed interested so I stayed in the background.
Vg Base
Vg base tobacco at 18mg target
3-tobacco flavors
Carmel candy
Meade used 10%- made in Michigan-name-(Kuhnhenn)
Totol flavors 20%-Meade is 20%-totol additives to vg 40%
If you wantt to read up on the meade I used look here...

There is no question to me. Its up to each owns individual taste, so dable with your tobaccos to your liking, ...but remember if it is missing that raisen note you want just add a little more Meade...(acid to body ratio)... no more than 2%
