Hangsen is PG free? Really? I did not know this....

I didn't either so I sent an email to hangsen and RTS (who I actually bought it from):

Hi Daniel,

Yes,Essence and Flavor Concentrates are both PG free.

May I know how many bottles do you need? Bottle size available in 100g,500g,1kg.MOQ for each order is 50L, and minimum 5L per flavor

Your early reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Best Regards,

I did a 100% VG and a 60/40 I bumped up the Indian to 10% and CA coconut to 6% on the 100%VG version. I also confirmed that All Hangsen flavorings are PG free. Not sure if that means they are 100% VG or VG and triacetin mix. I will say they seem really thick but not 100% VG thick.

I have mixed 5 samples per your VG formula = 100% VG, 10% HA tobacco and 6% Capella Coconut. I used HA Indian, Deluxe, TAB Blend, Arabic and Turkish. First whiff after mixing - the coconut seems strong. I'll let them sit for a couple weeks and give them a taste.

So here are my findings so far, I thought I'd finally share and I'm waiting on some flavoring. Maybe its new info, maybe its already been mentioned.

Many early on believed strongly that it contained Dekang Marlboro. Dekang doesn't sell their flavoring AFAIK, also their main chemist left with his recipes at the time for Hangsen, which leaves usa red mix from hangsen as a possibility.

Another flavoring people felt strongly about was Almond Joy. Which lends some truth to the diyFS making flavoring exclusively for Ben. Its one of their flavors that they have but, don't sell the concentrate. Ive been just making my own using equal parts coconut, chocolate, and all I have is toasted almond. Though if i made almond joy as a standalone I'm sure I'd have to go higher on the coconut which i will next concentrate mix.

I think the honey most certainly comes from a honey tobacco or is a just a drop of straight honey flavoring. Though anytime I've just used straight honey it's too "honey".

Another flavoring I found interesting was Black and Milk from ecigexpress. Black and Milk is a type of Bubble Tea aka "Boba Tea". It's something I could totally taste in Gorilla juice but, not in Bobas. I get a banana like flavor from it. Ha really thought i had found the holy grail when I ordered that one....

Graham cracker is a obvious possibility though one mix i did with just a touch of r cola gave me graham cracker-like nuances after a good steep. The high percentage of other flavoring just swallowed up the cola taste...

I've got a few steeping that hint at Bobas but, nothing worth mentioning just yet. I have a few more flavors coming that might get me closer...will update..

That will calm down after a 24hour steep.

The coconut did calm down. I won't taste until next week but the smell at this point is very promising. This also correlates to the anecdotes that the formula is something simple, not a collection of lots of flavors. I have fresh Bobas to do a side-by-side comparison.

I just mixed samples of Black Cigar+Coconut and Blank and Mile+Coconut which I can use as additive(s) to the HA.

I'm glad someone else could at least smell the same thing that sparked all this for me. It's still missing something and it's obvious based on the color. I bought Turkish, Arabic, Highway, Tobacco, RY1, RY4, Vanilla, and coconut all Hangsen. The Vanilla and Coconut are thin so they might be alcohol or triacetin based rather than VG. I've mixed each of them with coconut at different percentages. I also bought some more Boba's and I'm glad I did because when I got it I thought that Ben's formula had changed but it has steeped for another 3 days now and taste exactly like I remember it. It's amazing how much it changed in such a short amount of time. It had a flavor like Boba's mixed with nail polish which reminded me a lot of HS Arabic. It was also a very strong flavor with a hard throat hit for an all VG juice which leads me to believe that Ben is using high percentages of flavor. I mixed up 10% Indian, 10% Highway, 2% Arabic (you don't need much of this stuff), and 5% CA coconut. The throat hit is vicious but I'm not getting as much of that nail polish flavor. I guess I should bump up the Arabic. I'm letting it steep now but the color isn't right. There has to be a dark colored flavor that I'm missing. I'm going to keep searching as much as my vaping budget will allow.

Nail Polish?!? No Thank You.
I know, I was a bit ....... I even got paranoid and thought he was trolling me because I was trying to figure out his special potion. lol

After a few days though I can't taste nor smell that at all. It kind of morphed into a chocolate background note. I know it sounds crazy but that's what happened.

Who was trolling you?

As a side note, I do find the other info you've mentioned about Bobas to be interesting.

No problem :) and of course I just saw I used there when I should have used their... My bad. When a LOT of flavoring is used you can definitely get a chemical taste. It usually mellows out leaving just the flavor. Especially with an all VG juice like Boba's. Lots of flavoring is probably necessary.

Thanks to everyone here, you're doing God's work. No doubt.

When I first started DIY I once used 40% flavoring. I can say that I wasted flavoring...it was really strong. Now I know better.

I can achieve the same flavors using 5-10 percent. I don't think I would go above 10% unless there was a specific recipe I wanted to try that called for it.

Steeping helps a lot as well.

That's way different than what I thought. If that's the case...Thank You for clarifying.

Sorry for the confusion. No one is adding nail polish to their eliquids. It just tasted like that because of the amount and/or type of flavorings used in Boba's bounty. When it steeped it changed drastically. Also nail polish was the only way that I could describe the smell, someone else might taste/smell something completely different.

Mixed 2 other versions, got very good results:

3% Tobacco Blend Alc.(TPA)
3% Creamy Caramel Natural(LOR)
3% Maple Natural(LOR)
3% Toffee Natural(LOR)
2% Cherry Natural(LOR)
1% Almond Natural(LOR)

Second version(best in my opinion):

6% Tobacco Blend Alc.(TPA)
3% Cinnamon Danish(TPA)
3% Graham Cracker(TPA)
2% Cherry Natural(LOR)
1% Almond Natural(LOR)

I am very new to diy and have made 3 ingredient simple recipes. I would like to make the second version of eitano's BB recipe but Tobacco Blend Alc.(TPA) is no longer available. Can anyone recommend a good substitute. I was thinking VZ or Seedmans but not too sure? Thanks guys.

You can try the alcohol based flavor "Black Cigar" by VZ that is what i`m using with good results just needs to change the percentage and add sweetness:

3% Black Cigar(VZ)
3% Cinnamon Danish(TPA)
3% Graham Cracker(TPA)
3% Cherry Natural(LOR)
3% Almond Natural(LOR)
3% Cotton Candy(TPA)
2% Sweetener(TPA)

Those that might have the flavoring try
10% vz black cigar
10% hng usa red mix
10% almond joy (50% coconut, 25% almond, 25% chocolate. I'm using FA)

5% hng elder captain
5% honey I'm using FA

Not saying I have it but, I'm on the trail and looking for feedback. Thing is none of the hangsen tobaccos are dark enough or provide the red hue. Vz old captain has that red hue to it.
